New Acquisition - May 2015

This just came today. A Mic Mac inspired powder horn made by Roy Howman from Ohio. I copied his photos from the Contemporary Longrifle Assoc. site as they are better then mine would be.

Well I am keeping in fashion with spending ridiculous amounts of cash on guns this year.
This month the STI international Edge in 9mm
I can't believe how awesome this thing shoots it almost makes it look like I can shoot!

I'm pretty happy about this one.

It is one of two things

A : A franken gun

B: one of 162 of these they actually made

It is a 32 regulation police 4" target
Has a Marbles front sight
U Notch Pre War rear target sight

Can't wait to try it

Picked up my first can. Not sure if the suppressor ammo will make any difference but got a box to find out.

wow. can you show off some more pics please? i have a 1930 I frame 32 that i really like, but the sights leave a lot to be desired. I always thought the regulation police and regulation target grips were awesome too. way more to hold onto

nice! that looks kind of like mine... except my finish is not perfect like yours.
it has little flaking and some pitting, just finish deep though not into the steel.
other than that the bore and chambers are beautiful. internals are beautiful too.

god i love a nice S&W. some of these older ones are finished so beautifully it's amazing that they could have as nice and tight a fit and as nice a finish as they did with the tools they had back then.

Thanks! Jack Russels always look very serious.

Unless they are riding a motorcycle!

This is the only time she smiles.

I have been living with one for 9 years. I think that, for a dog, they are just too smart to ever be really relaxed/happy. Nonetheless, probably my favorite pup to date.

Nice gun btw, and your wife sounds like a great friend.

Picked-up in mid-May....used Colt SAA Frontier Scout .22LR with conversion .22WinMag cylinder. WinMag cylinder never used. Original box and paperwork, too. Both .22LR cylinder and barrel bores were keep really clean, with nary a scratch I can see inside, but the outside of the revolver was less that pristine, to be sure. The bluing is pitting off the aluminum frame (a known issue with these alum frames) and it has a good share of holster and scratch marks, so my thought is it was just lightly wiped down or left in the open in a house for whenever it was to be used; but who knows.

The holster is from my wife's Ruger Single-Six, and the Scout fits in it nicely.

Gave it a good cleaning and oil tonight, got a lot of gunk out of the cylinder pin bore (probably never taken out in its life) and .22 cylinder casing rear face, and now its ready to take out for a few rounds, and join the rest of properly-cared for revolvers in our safe.

^ Cool. I bought a Ruger Single Six .22 not long ago with both .22lr and .22mag cylinders and it quickly became one of my favorite .22 pistols to shoot. I have six .22 handguns.

First handgun I ever purchased was a Ruger Single-Six convertable - still have it. Many, many rounds through it.

Ruger super per six is a great pistol. Around what year was yours made. I bought one from a member here that said the one I purchased was around 1963. Pristine condition and great to shoot.

Added to the safe last week: 1991 Browning Buck Mark, the "Plus" version, I believe. Good shape, very minor scratches on the grips, looks like a maintained barrel and guts, but "character" wear here and there on the frame.

Found a second Liberty Bond Poster today - not as graphic as the first one. This one is marked; Edwards & Deutsch Litho. Co. Chicage (ironic isn't it?). Also has artist's signature: Raleigh. The other is marked S. Strothman.

Also found a U.S. Mess tin; stamped KNAP-MONARCH CO. 1944. ($2)
