New Acquisitions for February 2011

Ruger GP100 357 Magnum 5"

Finally added a revolver to my growing collection. 5" happy medium between the more popular 4" or 6" models.

I wanted to build a bolt action rifle next year. where did you find the stuff to build it. If you dont me asking how much did the set up cost

I had a savage model 10 in .308 laying around so I took it apart. I got the stock from midway, scope from midway, bipods from Harris, and barrel from McGowen barrel. I got most of the stuff on sale. I'd say I have probably around $800 into the rifle (including origional purchase of Savage GXP) and that includes taking it to a gun smith to install the barrel and check the head spacing. As soon as I get out to HSC I'll post some pics of how it performs. The old savage GXP shot great so I'm praying my investments will help push it to the next level. I've been meaning to post the old sporter barrel, simmons scope, and origional stock as a karma post but haven't taken any pictures yet. Hopefully I'll get around to it this weekend.

1943 underwood M1 Carbine

purchased earlier this week from NESr. caught me at the right time. Its a mix master but its what I like "shooter" collectable. By far one of the better M1 Carbines I have come across for the price. Quick stop and shoot function test ALL IS GOOD.

Purrty. I have a Garand on the way from the CMP. Seen some videos of the carbine on youtube, now I want it and they seem hard to come by [angry]
