New Acquisitions for October 2009!

Bayonet for my Schmidt Rubin K31. These used to be extremely scarce in the US, but apparently they have been released for sale. SN doesn't match the rifle, but it's still correct. Needs a bit of cleaning and degunking, but should look fine when it's done. Now all I need is an accessory kit to complete the rifle.

Nice find Gary, do you have a muzzle cap and sling to go with them? Right now I'm looking for a frog for my Bayonet.

Another black rifle to add, picked up the lower from 69hdfl today. I am gonna swap out the Skeleton stock for an A2. With the KAC rails, it is too front heavy.

RRA LPK & Grip
Colt H-Bar 1:7 MP
KAC rails
ACOG TA01/ LaRue mount
Troy BUIS
ACLM Ambi Charging Handle
LaRue Grip

I think John @ C&F just got one of those in on a trade. If not it looks very similar.

I'm Lynn, new to the forum. I just got my LTC Class, no restr. and my first firearm- S&W 686 Plus (.357), from First Defense and thought I'd post pics :)
It's consignment, and in excellent condition. I'm going to switch out the grip (the wood is nice but I prefer rubber), and eventually new sights.

Welcome Lynn!

Beautiful wheel gun you have there. It's a great gun to have around, whether for home defense, carry, or just plain fun [smile]

Have you shot it yet?

Lynn, to my old eyes, that gun looks set up just about perfect.

A nice all around gun. Good choice, and welcome to the forum.

My latest buys

These are both late September purchases. I am just now getting around to post them. 7,000 WLP primers old stock from another shooter, these should last me for awhile. Springfield Armory 1911 in 9mm from Cambridge Guy.

I actually bought the gun (Sig P229 in .40) in September, but the case came in October, and I spent a couple hours plucking it with tweezers. I am very pleased with how the case came out, although I have some extra real estate in there that I'm not sure what to do with. Maybe I'll add a third magazine slot.

I'd add at least 2 or 3 more. A handgun without at least 4 magazines isn't
fun. [laugh]

Ruger LCR

Picked up an LCR at North Shore Firearms this afternoon. Haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet, maybe tomorrow afternoon after IDPA @ Harvard. It's got the looks only a mother/father could love. The trigger feels a lot smoother than a worn in 442 that I tried. I have limited revolver experience but the trigger seems much more susceptible to short stroking than my 686SSR. I've just got to get used to fully releasing before going back for seconds. [wink]

I want to look at my options to brighten up that sight picture. Maybe I'll try some model paint.

Picked this up for a mere $25 with the ammo. It is a single Shot .22LR. The barrel is marked "Sears and Roebuck" and was made for Sears by JC Higgins. I don't know much about it, but for the price I figured I could not go wrong.

This Yugo VZ 24/47 crossed my path, so I had to rescue it for a small buck.
I'm wondering, what kind of markings it has. Will see by the end of the week.

You have to wait a couple of days before taking possession of even a rifle? That sucks. The anticipation would kill me.

Nope, I have won the auction just last night. It'll take a few days for the transfer of funds and shipping. The pic was taken from the auction board.

Buying FTF (private sale or from a dealer) is pretty much the same as on your side of the pond: See - touch - haggle - pay - take the gun home - register within 14 days - mission completed.

ETA: Proper license is of course a pre-requisite
