To kick off the month I was lucky enough to purchase an Egyptian Rasheed in 7.62x39. Beautiful rifle. Only 8000 were imported into the US so they are rare to find on the market. They are the next rifle after the Egyptian Hakim. Can't wait to get this one to the range!!

Damn man...the month is less than 12 hours old and u got another one...I am seriously slacking here, gotta pump my numbers up ;-)

Technically bought on the 29th but after a trip to the range I just need to show it off. It's an impressive piece of workmanship at a fair price. I'm Not a Glock fan boy, in fact I never liked them, but this is so far from that, it's more of a Not-A-Glock, and the machining is beyond is tight. If you have a chance to lay hands on one of these, do it.

Is the ammo hard to find

I recently picked up Springfield Prodigy. I was expecting it to be a bit of mess based on the majority of the reviews and it out of the box it was notchy. However after a racking the slide for a few hours and putting several hundred rounds (w/o a hiccup) through it, the action has really smoothed out. It shoots really well.

Good to hear. Sounds like they QC isn’t super high on these.
Have you shot anything like a stocatto to compare it to?

I have not had a chance to shoot a Staccato; I don't think I have even seen one at the range. With that said - I have a ton of 1911 time over the last 20+ years. Including stock 1911s from different manufactures and configurations, custom hand built 1911s in different calibers, and a double stack Wilson Combat 1911 in 9mm (similar to the Prodigy). The Springfield shoots really well.

I have a hypothesis - I suspect the early guns last year were rough and a small minority of the current ones probably do. I don't think they come out perfect right now - out of the box, this thing did weird things like the slide hanging on the disconnector (never saw that before). I also think many of the people complaining don't have any time behind it. That said - mine does run so far, in the first 15 rounds it had one slide lock back for what seemed like no reason. The action has also smoothed out drastically since, but isn't perfect yet, I really like a buttery smooth action. When I got it, the expectation was it would get customized over the winter and now I'm not sure it would make enough of a difference to be worth it. Considering how much I've sent out for customization over the years, that is a big for me.

Just picked up one myself. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but it is smooth when racking. Ordered some Staccato magazines or it as the SA ones are out of stock.

Just picked up this Nighthawk Custom GRP 1911 9mm, in their smoked nitride finish, with optics cut (which I've been wanting on a 1911) and lots of other upgrades. And while I'm sure there will be some who won't like the "battle worn" look of the smoked nitride finish, I really like it.

Acquired the last WW2 7,65mm I plan to get. Several others I want, but I needed this one to complete my display at WW2 events. Six-digit serial number NLB, late 1941, Belgian FN 1910/22 under German occupation; early second variation. 363,000 made. About 100,000 into the production run under occupation. Put-together rig.

Today I picked up a Canik TP9 Elite Combat. I've been eyeing Caniks for awhile now and have read nothing but good reviews and finally decided to take the plunge. Decided to go with the Black and Gold. Now that Its in my hands it feels very ergonomic. Threw on a Vortex Venom 6 moa optic with a TLR-1 Steamlight. This will be my night stand weapon. Can't wait to go shoot it out in the back but these damn black flies have been eating me alive. IMG20230524140149.jpg IMG_20230524_140423.jpg

Hungarian FEG SA-85M. Finally finished installing the new furniture from Atlantic Firearms. What a giant PITA. Quite a bit of filing, dremeling and drilling. Couldn’t stand that god awful thumbhole stock. Haven’t even had a chance to shoot it yet
I love how much lighter this is compared to my SAM7 that’s got a milled receiver.
