A couple hand-me-downs from my father as his shooting days are pretty much behind him. A Colt Model M1917 and what I think is a S&W Model 17? Despite some pitting the S&W has decent blue on it. The Colt... well it looks like you'd expect a well used revolver over 100 years old to look like. Love 'em.

It's definitely an outdoorsman. That S&W could very well be an Outdoorsman. If you want to PM me the serial number, I can look it up for you.outdoors.
You could beat someone to death with that trigger guard if you run out of ammo! Finally got the last few pieces to assemble this beast, so technically “acquired” today. MA compliant…. I know.. I wanted a challenge and admit it’s useless . View attachment 728026

Waaaaaaait, all metal?? What's the model #??Couple buddies and I made a day of it yesterday. Hit a bunch of shops at the mill and I picked up this beaut. First CZ I've owned, reminds me alot of my Beretta in how it feels and the weight, love the all metal and can't wait to get it to the range. Hit Shooters Outpost after that and picked up some electronic ear protection, checked out the Sig compound in Epping (impressive) and then finished with Kittery. Headed back to my buddies and assembled his 6.5 creedmoor rifle.
Overall I'd say it was a good day.

CZ 75 p01Waaaaaaait, all metal?? What's the model #??
Ah, OK ... standard P01 (SKU 91199 / 01199) has an alloy frame, the all-steel frames (SKU # 99021 / 99041) are much more uncommon. Was very jealous if you'd found a steel frame at the Mill. Carry on!CZ 75 p01

The barrel is completely exposed. Every millimeter of the shroud that would allow a handhold is milled off. The bolt flange on the shroud ends at the exact point the barrel nut does. There is no rule about exposing the barrel nut, it pertains to the barrel only.Semi-automatic pistols manufactured after 9/13/1994 with detachable magazines and two or more of the following:
- Magazine that attaches outside the pistol grip
- Barrel shroud safety feature that prevents burns to the operator

I’ll post more pictures. But would love for someone to explain this to me. Especially the “reported” comment. @ware If I’ve done something incorrect, I’ll gladly correct it and or delete my original post.
I think @ware was being funny, I hope. There are definitely rats and moles here but no one really cares past the extent you don’t get yourself in trouble.Ok. Will remove and investigate this further. Thank you for the direction.
Haha I was joking because that things hideous. I could care less what people do.Did I do something wrong?…
Really appreciate your insight. If I was to pin the magazine release and make it a fixed mag, does that allow me to leave the barrel shroud? The barrel is not completely exposed. The statute does not talk about a handhold. An operator with a c-clamp grip can use that shroud to prevent burns.

Recently a guy started a thread on whether to get a mini 30 or an sks. It got me thinking about an sks I bought from southern Ohio gun some years back, stuck in a locked closet, and damn near forgot about it. That thread changed that and I said I need to clean that thing up. Still in the shipping box and covered in good old cosmoline, I set out and seeing what I’d gotten after all these years.

Overall the cosmoline wasn’t too bad. I remember buying this and thinking it would be like a previous sks I bought, a yugo , that had way more cosmoline on/in it. This Chinese variant wasn’t too bad. No letter six digit serial number. Iirc dates her to 1956
I can’t remember the guy from the aforementioned thread or I’d @ him… wonder if her got an sks or something else
And My dog stella was good cleaning company on a nice spring day.
