It is Bullshit but I do hate that they did it.
You have a very nice gun and I've had a few with the locks.
They have never failed me but it just seems so unnecessary.
Oh well.

Nice job cleaning up! I love the early Chinese ones. Mine's similar, other than a mismatched dust cover and a whole lot of trench grafitti on the stock.

mine has a little bit of trench graffiti, and the dust cover is the only non-matching piece. I wonder if they had a bunch off while packing full of cosmo and they didn't get back on their respective rifles all the time.
I forgot to take a photo of it back together. I plan on getting out to shoot it this week. I'll get a better shot of the rifle, and share the letters/name(?) that looks to be carved into part of the stock by someone.
