MA doesn't have the lowest rate of gun deaths in the nation per capita. They are all cherry picking that CDC 'study'. Demographics has more to do with it and they are ignoring that MA has had an exponential increase in crime not seen by the other New England States other than most recently CT's spike. I would blame CT's spike on Malloy's grandstanding on coffins and the general fiscal disorder of that state causing massive flight of middle, upper, and working classes to other states as their employers relocate.

If you actually move to the South, it won't matter. Southern hospitality is an actual thing. They'll be nice and polite to you at first because it's required by the social customs of the South, and once they get to know and accept you it won't matter. I wish I could escape down there.

I don't understand why the NRA and supposedly pro-gun repubs don't pound this at every opportunity. When I tell my family from NC how it is in MA, they look at me at me like I have three heads. They should come up with a list of "common sense laws" that have already been passed in various places (like NY, NJ, MA, CA) and tell people that is the end game.

This is true to a point. The first time I went to Texas to meet my gf’s family, her 90yr old grandmother was there, sweetest woman you could meet, and the first words out of her mouth were, “So this is the damn yankee you’ve been dating?”

She loves me now that show knows I’m not some commie pinko from Cambridge.

I lived down south for years, just looking to get back there now that my kids are grown and doing their own thing.
