Over 2k rounds through it now, I did a detail strip and clean while I was adjusting the trigger pre-travel, and pinning the grip safety

I thought I posted when It was new, must have been in a monthly acquisitions thread...

I fit an EGW HD thumb safety because I don't like the ambi pressing on my knuckle, and this one is larger on the thumb side. Also added a Dawson big ice magwell and a STI mag release button

Thanks, I was sure I was going tactical but I really liked this. I took it to the range today and put 100+ through it. Ran perfect and was giving great groups at 25ft. Very happy with it.

I might have to see how some pearl grips look at some point.

This is the Colt Commander that I had customized for my son to commemorate him earning his way into special operations, it was just finished a couple of weeks ago. There's a long story to the build but the short version is that most of the frame work and the barrel and bushing crown were done by Robin Dietrich, the rest, including the finish and engraving was done by the Colt Custom Shop-

My old .45 I bought as a young SPC in Berlin in 88. This thing has been with me all over the place. She has lived on my chest, hip, thigh, waistband, strapped on my ruck, in my butpack, and about everywhere else it could be carried. She was in my waistband up on the wall when the Berlin Wall fell, she' been dragged through the elephant grass in the Canal Zone, she went to Camp X-Ray in Gitmo when it was used to hold Cuban migrants not Jihadies. Outside she is well worn and her scars can tell many a story. She still shoots great so all that superficial stuff is moot in my mind.

Stock Springfield Armory M1911A1, well worn.
