Many years ago when I was a young pup, I used to read and re-read gun magazines to the point they would fall apart.

Recently I was feeling nostalgic so I ended up looking on E-bay searching for some older magazines that I remember reading when I was younger, and came across a set of International Combat Arms magazines that was being sold.

Heckler & Koch had some pretty cool ads, and I remember at the time salivating over their stuff. I scanned a few of these HK ads from some 1984/85 issues of ICA.

Anyone else have some old magazine advertisements they were particularly fond of?

+1, I love the 1900s artwork gun ads.

This thread can be about any print gun ad you like - I am very fond of the old Winchester and Remington ads myself, but they are a bit before my time. I was a teenager in the 80's, so those are the ads that I gravitate towards the most.

can't find an ad, but the first time i saw an ad in handguns magazine ( probably ) in the mid 1980's for the Browning BDA 380 i was in serious lust.
still am.

I think I remember the ad you are thinking about. I'll have to see if I can dig it up.

Many moons ago, Mcdonalds had wallpaper that was filled with ads from the early twentieth century that had guns of all flavors. Probably 40 years ago.

I know, right?

I got my FID card when I turned 18 in 1988. First thing I bought was an an HK91 - I think it cost me $650 or $700 at the time, I'm not quite sure. Ended up trading it in the early 90's for an M1, I believe.

I don't get emotionally attached to guns - I've bought, sold, and traded my fair share over the years - but had I known then what things were going to be like now I would have never let that HK91 go.

This one doesn't have the "cool" factor of the HK ads, but it is from around the time the military adopted the Beretta as the "new" US sidearm: Sept. 1985 issue International Combat Arms

I've never seen one of these things in the wild, but it shows up a few times in these magazines. Anyone have any idea what became of them? Summer 1984 issue International Combat Arms

I want to point out something I've been discussing in my MA Gun Law Seminars about pre-ban vs. post-ban mags. My "expert source" was the NE Region Beretta Sales Rep for many years.

Many have preached here and elsewhere that Beretta mags with the flat area in that upper "groove" indicates post-ban mags.

Now take a good look at the photo above and tell me that again please?
