Quality Spotting Scope Stand - What are you using?

The thing with using a camera tripod as a scope stand is you have to use 2 hands to manuver the scope and it's a PITA especially if you're slung up in prone.

The creedmoor polecat and stand is the golden standard. Buy one cry once.

What am I missing? Isn't this a $400 tripod that requires 2 hands to adjust the height and legs? Maybe 1 handed if you're going to just swivel.

No. The scope head is a friction-adjustment. You can maneuver it with one hand.

P.S. I think the Creedmoor stand costs too much for what it is.

I went with this for prone or bench shooting. It has worked well enough for me while being lightweight. I didn’t want to spend big money on my budget spotter that only gets used a few times per year. The Bushnell spotter is certainly not high end, but I at least wanted something with a fine focus. When I compared side by side with a Vortex Diamondback I preferred the Bushnell. I wanted the Razor, but wasn’t spending that kind of money at the time.

There's a class action settlement due to price fixing by the manufacturers that Amazon notified me of if any of you purchased Celestron spotting scopes going back to 2009.

Thank you. I bought a Celestron back in 2009. Opticsplanet no longer had the order listed online but a search here on NES found my posting about it with price and approximate date so that I could file the claim. I never received any notice about this settlement.

The problem with the old Freeland bipods is that the rods are kinda "whippy" because they're only 5/8" diameter.

Freeland sells 1” steel rods… that’s what I have in my Freeland stands and they are rock solid
