My Saiga SGL21
One of my Saigas got a lot handier the day before GPIII.
fappin' hard at that mount and the optic, ray--where'd you get it? i want something just like that for the build flintoid and i did.

it comes from canada. So sometimes it gets held up in customs for weeks... fair price, but you always risk the customs trip. It's where I got my PK-23

i'm mostly dying to see how good of a job we did on that mount. it LOOKS ok.

That set up did come from Eastwave but came straight through from Russia. I tracked it for weeks floating all over St Petersburg and when it came here it was wrapped in brown paper and tied up with string. When my wife found the package on the doorstep and saw all the Russian writing, she got nervous and called me at work.
Only thing is its a PSL mount that they modified with a screw in the back to stop against the AK style mount. It wouldn't work on my Century Bulgarian 74 but fits a few of my Saigas well. The next one I buy will be the PKA from Kalinka Optics. The ones they sell are specified for either a PSL or AK mount.

that is awesome.i don't know about that PK-23... the blinking would trip me out and i'd be like ooooh pretty colors and i wouldn't be able to hit anything or i'd just get a headache.
maybe if i found a PK-A?

Thats it. Took me a mag and a half Friday night before the shoot. Zeroed it at 50 yards and I was hitting what I wanted at the distance the truck was at Monadnock, probably 60 or 70 yards.

Heres my 47, and 74. Didnt have a photo of them alone so just ignore the other two..
Looks much better without all that garbage on it.
I bet that pistol grip is comfy too. I don't think I've ever seen an AK with that...it's like the Hogue finger notch grips for an AK! I like it!

Just finished this Saiga conversion yesterday.
Hey, I got a question for you guys. Has anybody done one of these conversions and then had to change the sights? I cannot get my face down low enough on this stock to get a decent sight picture. I am considering adding a scope mount and a red dot, but I'd really like to have iron sights that I can use.
Edit - I figured out my sighting problem. I was pulling the stock up too high on my shoulder, thinking I had to get it higher to meet my eye. I found that if I dropped it on my shoulder just an inch or so, I could get my eye in line with the sight. Not the most comfortable position, but it works. I could use a longer stock, but this one just looks so cool.
