Anyone else get suspicious direct messages from people trying to sell firearms?
For example, a message from someone that has a new account only created hours before the message.

I've had a few messages that were...strange. Generally with new or low post count people. But nothing that made me worry.

Scammers sometime hijack existing user accounts. I’ve seen it on other forums as well. Be careful and report suspicious direct requests.

I had some newly created account ask me to show the FA10 that proves my lower was pre-94 hahah
I have been asked for documentation as well. I don't have receipts for any guns that I bought.. Like why would I keep receipts for anything unless I was going to return it?

I referred one person to Reptile if he wants receipts lol

If they are telling you about a gun “their friend” is selling, it’s a scam 100% of the time. I think the friend thing is in the scammers handbook or something.

Don't be so quick(not you specifically) to write things off as scammers or Russians..Lots folks in the FTATF trying to entrap people, they are always looking for the next Randy and Vicki Weaver
