1000+ signatures let’s go!!Sign the petition! GOA has a pre-filled out message for ya

The petition is a hook for money, which is fine, but how much money is GOA planning to spend helping gun owners in MA fight this bill?
Yep. Names and money. Get ready for a ton of email and snail mail spam. And it won't be turned off. Ask me how I know that so well.

Do like I do now: Donate anonymously. Use postal and/or Walmart money orders. Best decision re: 2A groups I ever made. [thumbsup]

I actually don't mind it as I know there are so few helping out and the 2A groups must grovel for the cause.

The problem is that I hate seeing the pro-2A groups spending money on member mailings rather than spending it on lobbyists and lawyers. 🤔
It's a necessary evil as they say. Some years back I spoke to an NRA fundraiser and they told me that if they didn't haunt folks they would raise even less money.

remember.. GOAL is the lobbying organization... they try, but can only do so much with the Dem drones on Beacon Hill.

Comm2A is the legal org, picking the right cases to take to court for the precedence battles

Well, this is going to be interesting to watch. GOAL seems to want to come out of their traditional losing "lobbyist" role and become a force again by taking the Monstrosity anti-gun bill to the courts. Meanwhile, Comm2A remains silent and I can't tell if they are going to be in the game or not.

I am only vaguely aware of their work. Not a lot in MA.
Pretty much every win in for the 2A in the last few years is their work.

This is GOAL's one big opportunity to shine and become a meaningful organization again. I hope they don't blow it.

I think GOAL is useless. Completely useless. That said, I don’t think it’s their fault. Don't know much about the internals of the organization. I just know that they’ve never been able to do anything that has made any tangible difference since things started going off the cliff in MA. And now after 8/1 things will be almost as bad as they could possible be. So I just don’t see the point in giving any money to GOAL even if they’re good people that work hard to fix things.

I think the deck is just stacked so hard against them in terms of opposition support from voters and financial support for the opposition that there’s nothing they can do. So donating to them is just not going to do anything to fix this or any other problem in MA. I think it makes more sense to donate to the national organizations that have an interest in repealing stuff like this in order to establish case law that prevents other states from acting up.

Love you, GOAL. But you just aren’t a good use of anyone’s money for this.

So I would sit you at a table to negotiate the 2A with a group that hates guns and are upset Crooks did not succeed.

On a scale of 1 to 10 how successful would that negotiation be?

That's what GOAL is up against.

Now, GOAL has had some lobbying wins but they are acutely aware of what they face. Foe what its worth they will be shifting to more litigation going forward

I agree with you. And I pointed out in my post that they are up against insurmountable odds. I don’t blame them for not being able to increase or even protect gun rights legislatively in MA. I’m just being honest, that they have not and cannot make a difference in this fight. GOAL is not useful for protecting or advancing 2A rights in MA.

If they’re shifting tactics I think that is great and I hope they fare better.

There is a lot of truth in your post. I won't get into how and why I think GOAL has become so weak. I'd like to focus instead on how they could rise again from the ashes and become a real force again. We can now see that lobbying in MA with 100% leftist DimocRAT control of the Legislature is useless. All the action now... and successes, hopefully... will be in the court system. That's why I applaud GOAL's decision to turn itself (or at least part of itself) into a litigation organization.

So again, we have to wait and see how this plays out. GOAL seems to want to take the lead on challenging the Monstrosity bill in court. How will GOAL interface with and work with the national big boys (with the big dollars and experienced lawyers)? Will they even let GOAL take the lead on spending their money? Or will the big boys want the lead and eventually the top credit for killing the Monstrosity bill? Many questions ahead...
