Target Sports Delivering Again - Megathread

223/5.56 ammo has gone up $50-$75 per case pretty much everywhere the last two days.

Lots of places sending out the panic emails plus Lake City stopped all commercial contracts.

Hopefully it’s short term temporary but I doubt it. It’s also an election year.

I enjoy perusing this thread and hearing feedback from shooters.

I tried the New Republic 115gr 9mm from TS. Got a case a couple weeks ago, around 245 shipped and burnt through the entire case with a few different weapons over the past couple weekends.
Out of the 1000 rounds the only malfunctions were a few stove pipes and 4 or 5 light primer strikes. Light strikes went off subsequently when reloaded again or into something else. I associate the stove pipes to dirty firearm, not poor or underpowered ammo.
The various vehicles this was sent through include, a p365xl, an uzi in full auto, an mp5 in semi and full auto, a Glock 17, Glock 18, and a 9mm ar, suppressed and non suppressed.
YMMV, but that is my experience so far. I think it was fine range, training and practice ammo, and will be grabbing another case. Price is right, isn't overly dirty, and functioned well in a variety of guns.
The 9mm brass also looked pretty good if reloading is your thing.

The Xtac is just about tapped out on TS. Only a few cases left of green tips.
Im trying hard to not order at that price, well see if I regret it.

I have a feeling ammo imports from Europe will slow down soon, maybe well keep seeing the korean stuff though.

It's taking everything in my power to not order anything right now. My bigger priority is paying off bills right now. I hope this doesn't become like the last shortage were I bought three cases of steel case ammo for 30c a round and it turned out to be a good move as much as I regretted pulling the trigger at the time.

If the world goes to war there will be virtually no ammo (military chamberings mainly) available between panic buying and government buying (governments are willing and able to pay much higher prices than us).

How much ammo do I personally realistically need in a world war though. If at mininum I have enough 'extra' stored to fill all my mags twice over, is that enough?

Well, if you only have 1,000 rounds of 5.56 and use that up in a couple weekends and then cannot get any more that would suck. I'm not talking about us in a war, I am just talking about having enough to go shooting and for self defense if needed. If the shit hits the fan there will literally be no ammo on the shelves in short order, people should plan accordingly IMO.
