Target Sports Delivering Again - Megathread

I don't shoot competition ,so I guess I was curious as to how many someone who does feels comfortable with. Thx for the replies......

I only have a 100 on hand 🤣
I'd shit my pants well before I had a thousand on hand. Below 10k would make me uncomfortable. Like broc said, there is no number and its never enough

This thread specifically states to not post links to vendors. Best to delete your post and learn from your ignorance.

And I’m not in MA, fwiw.
Deleted.

But considering that this thread is 729 pages long, I think that my "ignorance" could be attributed to a simple, understandable oversight. And maybe, just maybe there was also a little bit of confusion between this thread and the "Deals and Steals" thread...and the desire to help out my fellow shooting enthusiasts.

For context, the AG historically had interns monitoring threads looking for retail shops to intimidate and actively reduced the places shipping to MA based on info we posted.

No.

9999 without a permit.
More than that if you want to involve the government in your life, or if you don't care.

FYI ... primers and even smokeless powder are the least of your concerns during a fire. Primers just pop and powder does a quick flash burn. YouTube has videos of firemen burning over 30lbs of smokeless powder. It all burns in less than a minute and doesn't damage dry wall near by.

Besides, I believe the limit is for loose primers. What if you get 15K and quickly prime 5K?
They changed it maybe? hence the confusion.

I remember it being 1000 at one point.

Regardless nobody cares and it's probably the #1 ignored reg in mass.

They changed it. I believe at least 6 or 7 years ago.

You are right, and in a fire, Primers are the least of anyone's concern. They will pop and cause no damage.

What has changed?
Did your new law completely obliterate any opportunity to buy online or do you still have a chance?
I’d imagine that if there is any chance of shipping to MA, you’d want to be even more careful with sharing info now.
Not MY new law. What changed is I thought that talk was all "pre-Bruen". Didn't Target Sports just keep on chuggin' along, and no problem? Why not others? I'm not a big online store person, so I don't pay attention to this stuff.

For anyone interested - totally agree nobody cares.

Relevant sections:
on p.23, section 1.12.8.39.1.1.4, where the locking up assembled ammo, powder & primers requirement comes from, and says you don't need a permit except as required by Table 1.12.8.50.
on p.28-29, Table 1.12.8.50 - number limits for permit or license for ammo & components.

I was told not to bother the FD with this, unless I turned it into a business.

Some stores watched TS for a bit when they first started shipping, and when they weren't shut down by the MA AG started, with no fanfare or publicity, shipping to MA. Some stores made the determination that MA wasn't worth it and wouldn't sell to us. Now the stores that have been selling with no issues have to determine if the new law is going to change that. I'd expect online sellers to tighten up on MA sales in the short term, but if companies like TS keep on selling with no issues then some of the others will relax. Some will not. As a tool of mass chilling effect, this new crap legislation has done well, and I hate them for it.

That’s definitely per FD/Chief. Some care more than others.

In reality, it’s not about the FD. It’s really about your insurance policy and your insurer taking any possible opportunity to deny a claim.

It’s really about your insurance policy and your insurer taking any possible opportunity to deny a claim.
In this particular environment anything will be used to cancel policy or deny coverage. The ammo storage would be the easiest way to do so. The insurer would consider that a blessing to know that detail.

I always buy double what I plan to shoot, half to shoot then half to stockpile… I have gone into the stockpile on a few occasions when ammo was unavailable or really overpriced but I’m an ammo horder at heart…

I think I posted in this thread earlier this year about the normal 1 day, taking several.

Well, as of this AM order - sked delivery tomorrow.

It could be that this is my last stock-up before the election and I spent alot - 3 different flavors by the case.

I think it more just depends on the day/volume. I've had it happen to me plenty of times. Think it's busy but I get it next day. Think I'm on an off time and gonna get it next day and it's three days.

At what age should we start "spending down" our ammo stash? I don't want to die and have my family give away all my ammo. Ha.
