Anyone recently purchase a suppressor? Wondering how the wait times are. They were 12-16 months the last time hoping they have improved.

I can't answer what the current wait time is, but will offer this advice:

Imho, DONT THINK ABOUT IT .... AT ALL.

Go about your life. Literally try to "completely forget" all about the purchase.

If you do the above ... the overall wait time will fly by, until you get the call to come pickup your "new" toy.

Not sure if I'm understanding this right. Do you have to apply for a new stamp every time you buy a suppressor? I thought it was just a one time thing. Is this true with SBR's also?

Not having those, I have no idea on how this works. Maybe this is why.

New stamp every time. It all goes into the NFA registry by S/N. Jack.

Yup. Each time. Unless you have an FFL/SOT.

Agreed

The silencer is serialized so it doesn’t matter. I believe you don’t even need to notify when crossing state lines.

Just drop the coin and wait.

When it comes it comes. Believing anything on the web sites or from ANY source is like waiting for a porn star queen to enter your life.

The efile system is no prize no matter what any retailer is selling you.

I submitted my latest eform4 on March 1. Still waiting. I completely agree with the just forget about and move on after submitting. I always figure I am buying them for “next year”

I had a March 9 eForm 4 approved more than six weeks ago. You are definitely in FBI background hell.
That’s some BS!! Glad you got yours though. Shows feb 13th but it wasn’t finalized until March 4th.

Someone on a NH FB group posted that theirs was 6 days for an ODX (?) from Sig through filing at Sig. Others on the same page talk about waiting and waiting still.

interestingly enough I had submitted my suppressor request in march as a basic test of the system to see how it ran. True to form. I’m not impressed. I am hoping to have 2 more eform4 requests in before the end of the year so hopefully they get it ironed out before then. or maybe we’ll be a few years delayed by the braces.

Paper filings before the change to eFile seem to be taking well over one year. EFile seem to be taking 4-6 months. I’m also an April efiler and have a paper filing that is over a year now. The whole system is a joke. Why not just a simple NICS check (assuming anything at all - it’s just a dumb can with baffles).

Bottom line is get the clock started asap. I have a feeling for every month delayed on submitting now will grow more than a month of delay on receipt of the stamp. Some may luck out and get them earlier but if March efiles are still pending i wouldn’t be surprised if anything submitted now thru the end of the year will grow to a 12 month wait just like paper was.

Hurry up and wait.
Top two are paper forms and bottom is a eform.

The good news (hopefully) is I called ATF just over a week ago and the sandman was with an examiner.

I call bullshit.
I think this happens by mistake or incompetence sometimes. When the first iteration of eforms started up in 2013 or 2014 (I think) I submitted a batch of eform 1s. One was back in like a week, so I was super excited and expected the others (that I submitted AT THE SAME TIME) to come back soon....nope, took like 6 or 9 months.
