The Conference Committee has sent official language out - h.4885

For f***s sake guys, you gotta get one of these. I haven’t looked at it in about 10 years, but they’re making all kinds of new stuff it’s registered and the Maxwell’s just a part you could do whatever you want is assuming you already have the magazines
I only own one because I only have so many hands
Usually I “transition”. For my rifle to my side arm it be awkward transitioning between two rifles…. you see the trigger guard with the defense in it though otherwise it’s a bitch.

Ahh, but does yours have the transformer rail?

So, this [emergency] preamble being brought up today would be in retaliation to the referendum gaining enough sigs. and pausing implementing in Oct and not to implement the law ASAP? If so, I would assume that GOAL would have thought this through as a possibility especially with the legislature and Gov. that we have.
Methinks you give GOAL far too much credit. [laugh] But to be honest, I never knew that the MA governor can go back up to 30 days after signing a bill and attach an emergency preamble to it. That raises all sorts of legal questions.

But the DimocRATS running this state have pulled weird, unethical stunts like this before. They fight dirty and they fight to win at any cost. You can do that in a Communist dictatorship-like state with a solid super-majority and 100% control of every state constitutional office.

Would you expect anything different from a state that has 97% Democrat control of the senate and 87% Democrat control of the house. The governor's office under Democrat control, the Attorney Gennrals office under Democrat control and the state Supreme Court under Democrat control. In a one party dictatorship the citizens really have no say what can or cannot be done. The only way to fix this would be at the ballot box. Unfortunately, the majority of the serfs in Massachusetts feel they are comfortable with this. They are the ones that have created this and it dosent seem the serf mentality thinking will change it. This state can do anything that want and there is no resistance, in fact support from the citizens to alow this. It will only become worse once the ileagles become citizens with the wave of some magic wand we will lose the few remaining seat in the Massachusetts state legislature. At that point it will be too late the total damage will be done and the sheep will look up.

THIS!!!!

People will sign the change.org thing and think it's the real petition. It's not. I hate that it's out there.
I signed this yesterday. If this not the petition where is it?

I will check in at my LGS (the gun rack in turners falls) and see if it is there. Will also inquire at the millers and turners falls Rod and gun.

Change.org is a feel-good website. Nothing there has any real-world meaning. Putting this petition on there, I fear, is likely to depress participation in the actual petition.

The actual petition will be on paper. It has not yet been printed.

If I were going to go looking for the petition I'd hit up the mill, my lgs, local range, or cape gun works.

Whoever put that Change.org petition up should take it right down.

Are they trying to make up for totally screwing over Colorado recently?

For legal challenge donations, I’d much rather it go to FPC. No idea what GOAL, who’ve never done anything on the judicial side, are going to do with $100k to fight this with a lawsuit.

They're going to partner with Comm2 and whoever comm2 decides to partner with.

Thanks for the bullshit non- answer.

Gee....now this is a surprise......

BOSOTN (WWLP) – Governor Healey says she will strongly oppose suspension of the new Massachusetts gun reform law as gun owners and lobby groups have filed a federal lawsuit and begun the process to repeal it.

The law includes new methods to track ghost guns, strengthens the “red-flag law” that allows courts to remove guns from the procession of those considered a threat, and adds schools, government buildings, and polling places to the list of areas where firearms are prohibited.

The Gun Owners’ Action League (GOAL) Executive Director, Jim Wallace, says this law is quote “a flat-out ban on the Second Amendment regardless of what they tell people.”

GOAL filed a federal lawsuit challenging new licensing provisions just days after the bill was signed, and more lawsuits are expected to follow.

While GOAL will not be organizing the effort to repeal the law, initial signatures to begin the petition process have been filed with the Secretary of the Commonwealth, Bill Galvin. Similar organizations are also looking to suspend the law until a vote to repeal it can be taken, but Governor Healey says she will “absolutely” not let that happen.

“[This law] has the widespread support of law enforcement, and it’s just the right move we need to make in the state to make it safer,” Gov. Healey said on Monday.

The governor has the authority to file an emergency preamble which would prevent the law from being suspended during the petition process.

As of Wednesday, Governor Healey has not yet indicated if she will be pursuing this route.

f*** the media for being so dishonest about what the law does

Have to agree, that was a politician's non-answer. @Comm2A you can't do that BS with this crowd.

Speaking generally, and not necessarily about this particular exchange, it makes sense for orgs to hold their cards close to their chest (vest?) where litigation is involved. It's more important that they don't give anything away to the other side sooner than they have to than it is to publicly broadcast details.

The governor lies openly and with such ease that she must be very practiced at it. 🤔

We have cases. We are working on cases, we are working on building further cases.

I am not going to expand on the cases that being prepared until they are filed.

We are not alone in these cases.

If you want me to spill the details about who is supporting and who is being sued and such, I won't until the cases are filed.

Sorry if this offends you, but the strategy of casework is such that details need to be tightly controlled until the time is right.

This was my point several pages ago. The media and our overlords just keep spewing the crap that the law only prohibits ghost guns and weapons of war.
It doesn't tell everyone how far reaching this actually is, and we're way behind in trying to get that message out.

Soooo, the fact that you didn't mention you aren't involved in fighting the H.4885 (Ch. 135) debacle one could assume that you are involved based on the above.

I don’t get the secrecy. What does telling the public who and what you’re going to sue compromise any case. Figure if you want donations you’d be giving us a road map. Oh well
