I scouted a new spot and put out a camera Friday. I checked it yesterday. I don't normally check so quickly but wanted to stay out of the woods for the last week before the season opened. Got some good doe activity and this guy. Of course it's middle of the night but hopefully he slips up during the rut. Looks like a heavy fella.
This is my first year hunting so I'm pretty amped to see these two out there. Hoping there's some bucks out there...
Ok, as promised here are the moose pics. This is the moose we were after. Can you find the big bull in the last picture?
He's the black nose on the far left edge, notice he's not there in the picture right before? He's following a cow down the road.
We didn't get that big one but we did get one about 800lbs. 45.5" 6x6.
He's probably damn near a 1000lb moose, we got him to answer calls last week but nothing this week.

Need to hunt for sheds this winter/spring. Is that your property? mind if I take a hike out there?
My pics were on paper land in upstate Maine, I had a permit for this week and hung them about a week and a half ago.

Buck hitting my mock scrape. Just noticed, this is only a few hours after I made it.
Went out this morning for a few hours. Spooked a group of deer walking in that was right in front of my stand. Prolly the does and fawns I've been seeing. Too dark, all I saw was tails and heard them wheezing. Scared the cap outta me. Goin back now to trim some shooting lanes. I won't be able to hunt for about 2 weeks. Camera did show this guy tho. He's out of velvet and lookin good.

Been waiting all spring/summer to see this. Does and fawns/yearlings all year. The season starts on Monday and he shows up on Tuesday.
Whew those are some gnarly G2's, they have to be 10" or better.
