What did you do to your firearm today.

Not what i did today, but this happened slowly over a few weeks. Shaved and slimmed the butt of the stock, carved in a pistol grip and end cap, ebony fore end, added sling mounts, and lots of wetsanding and about 20+ coats of oil. Polished and cold blued the barrel sights and all metal components.
Too many pictures to post but heres a few in process and completed. Wanted to make a .22 sort of clone of my rem 700.

Did you bed the action?
I did not, i used graphite to get as close a fit as i could with the ebony forend. I don't see a need to glass bed it since its not going to be a precision or comp rifle. Im keeping the irons on this barrel. I have a second barrel and action i plan to shorten and drill for an optic. May decide by then i want to learn to do that but for now its not really on my radar.

Bought a bull barrel from our member Andrew1220 , and picked up a Hogue stock to drop it in. So my Ruger 10/22 receiver now has a KIDD bolt , BX trigger group , and a Green Mountain barrel all dropped into the Hogue stock. The lighting in my reloading room isn't the greatest but I'll attach a couple of pics.

Wow! Looks great, nice work!

Thanks, I may consider this over the stock plate. Does anyone know of any other manufacturers of MOS plates for the SRO optic?

I am not interested in the C&H version.
Give FCD a call, they were in the process of making one for the SRO. They might have one for you to try out.

For those not looking at my pseudo build thread. I assembled it!

KAC upper, lower and 13.5 URX 3.1 handguard. Ballistic advantage 18" SPR barrel with seekins adjustable gas block and Gamma VG6 muzzle brake. Magpul MOE stock with stoner AR rifle length buffer system. WMD Nickel boron BCG. I still have to install the KAC trigger guard and Rock River two-stage trigger. 20211114_131538.jpg

Used the Versa Max Tactical to send some Sluggers downrange yesterday. I'm quite pleased with the results @ 50 yards (IC choke), and the lack of shoulder punishment. I didn't have to tweak the RDS too much, since it was dialed for Winchester Varmint X, BB loads. The Versa Max Tactical is one of my most satisfying gun purchases, as far as utilitarian value is concerned.

First time painting, Im pretty happy with how it came out, and have plans on how to improve it for my next try

That looks awesome. Really like the understated pattern.

Also just noticed it's a Larue upper and KAC lower! Doesn't get much guccier than that and you rattle canned it!?
