What is the worst Firearm you have shot?

worst gun I've shot.....380 AMT Backup, single action...the grip safety would bite the web of my hand. I bled everytime I shot the thing

Worst one I've ever shot? The Smith 340PD. Bought it, shot it, waited for the swelling to go down, and sold it the next day. Missed it for the ease of carry, and recently got another one. Not fun to shoot, but its here to stay.

A close second is my Taurus revolver; an absolute POS.

I'm suprised noone mentioned the Mossberg Plinkster yet...
Hands down the worst gun I've shot Mossberg Plinkster 802... Not even its low price of $120 could make me find a good thing to say about this POS....except I was happy to get $65 for it on a trade in.

Blasphemy!! Now go say three novenas to Mikhail Kalashnikov the supreme being of gun design, fire one hundred rounds from your favorite firearm, and if you are lucky all will be forgiven.[smile]

UNCLEAN!

BLASPHEMER!

DISCIPLE OF SATAN!

The "Supreme Being of Gun Design" is His Holiness, John Moses Browning, whose genius is made manifest by the great number and goodliness of his beneficent designs.

Get behind me, Satan, with your mendacious promotion of that False Prophet, that socialist slave with his but one true design; he whose name is not worthy to be uttered in the same breath as that invoking The Great Browning!

Sprinkle yourselves with the Holy Water of Hoppes to purge yourselves of this vile contamination!

Browning was okay. Now the designer of the French Chauchau (sp?) machine gun, well, he was a genius! [wink]

That's Chauchat.

And your nomination of its designer proves you are utterly unqualified to even discuss the subject.

Add BD's name to those of the heretics to be burned at the stake.....

I would agree with you Scriv (Wow I would not of thought just typing Agree with Scriv would be so painful[wink]) if we were talking pistols or crew serve weapons. But in the world of Infantry assault rifles the AK wins hands down against all competitors. Just my not so humble, non-legal, never binding opinion.[smile]

The AK is a marvelous peasant weapon. Designed to be built, used and abused by the great unwashed, using ammo made by the same socialist methods and still function - every time. It is, indeed, a world-class weapon in that regard. Small wonder it is the weapon of choice for third-world insurrections.

However, it is merely ONE design. JMB's 1911 is still made (more popular than ever), his High Power has been similarly copied, his .30 machine guns got us through 3 wars and countless "police actions," his M2 .50 BMG is still in use something like 80 years later and his cartridges - from .25 ACP up to the .50 BMG are all still in production.

And what has Mr. Kalashnikov done to match that record?

"The first one that comes to mind is a gun that my childhood friend's father owned. It was a 9mm 'carry' gun from the 60s or 70s, imagine a PPK about twice the size, unfinished, bulky and awkward. It reminded me of the Delorean of guns, except not nearly as cool. Wish I knew what it was. But it was heavy as all get out, had a 20lb trigger, and the most recoil I've ever felt in a 9mm." Sounds like a Detonics Nine.

Worst gun for me has to be AMT .45 backup (absolutely horrible trigger) or COP derringer in .357mag (with 4 barrels accuracy was terrible) but still loved both for their uniqueness.

My M&P 340CT with .357's. My mitts are to big, so this sucker loves to dig in and bite! Blitz1 you have to try this thing!!![smile]

Stoeger Condor 20 ga.

I wasn't expecting too much of it, but after 200 or so rounds, ~2 out of every 3 trigger pulls would result in the hammer audibly dropping, but the firing pin not striking the primer. Sent it back to Benelli, they 'fixed' it and mailed it back. Within 20 rounds, the same problem showed up. Benelli shipped me a brand new one. Within 30 shots it exhibited the exact same issue as the first one. I know it was a budget gun, but I didn't think it unreasonable to expect that it go bang on cue. Bennelli sent me a full refund and I purchased a proper shotgun.

It was a shame too - that little O/U fit me better than any other shotgun I've tried and when it would actually fire it was really fun to shoot.

Saiga 762

The trigger slap on the Saiga 762 that I have fired was TERRIBLE.

It seems that with everyone there is either a hate or love relationship with the AK. I have a love/hate relationship. I don't like shooting them (inaccurate, uncomfortable, loud) and I don't even like being around them (loud and they seem to throw casings at me no matter where I stand). But any gun that can be field stripped in a sand storm and put back together dry and still shoot reliably has to get my respect.

I think one of the reasons so many AK types have hard trigger slap is because its a gun that wasnt never really meant to be fired semi auto.

Talking Infantry rifles, the true messiah is none other than John Cantius Garand.

You'll have to show me at the next shoot. I haven't owned a Mossberg pump since high school. I had two then and I hated both of them, but I worked at McDonalds in H.S. and they were all I could afford.

My first purchase in the Marines was a nice Beretta A303. [wink]
If I ever get to a shoot I will bring my 500 trophy sluggster. 3" groups at 125 yards. Best stand gun I have ever had.

When I was 14, and weighed about 70 pounds, I had a Savage break action single shot 16 Gauge shotgun that would bash the crap out of my "flip off" finger every time I fired it.

It was all I owned back then, and I knew a great local place for grouse hunting. I forced myself to shoot that gun for two seasons before I put it in my closet.

My finger used to swell up like a balloon if I got a few grouse, and only hurt like hell and turn red if I only fired one or two rounds.

I gave the gun away after I bought a Featherweight 20 Gauge Ithaca.

As an adult, the gun I least like to fire is my Ruger Deerslayer .44 Magnum. It's narrow stock and light weight makes it worse to shoot than a heavy round in a Mosin, despite it being a semi-auto. I've lent it to a BIG friend of mine, who likes it, and seems to enjoy the abuse it gives him.

its surprising that some people think the AK is the worst firearm around, when is widely considered to either be the best or close to the best assault rifles ever made.

As I told you, one of these days I am going to pour sand in the AK, fire it and see if anyone has the nuts to do it with an AR with out knowing it is going to jam up bad.

If you pour sand into the AK, it won't function. It can take more than the AR, but it's still going to jam if you abuse it enough.
