This is the most important development in the last month and a half afaic. Authorities picking and choosing if and when to enforce the laws on specific groups. Some are allowed to wreak mayhem while the police look on, others are prosecuted for defending themselves or their property.

If there ever really was a question as to which side the police will choose in any kind of gun confiscation scenario, this answered that loud and clear. They will do what their superiors tell them to do. Their superiors will do what the local politicians tell them to do. Politicians are just the part of the mob who hold degrees and wear business attire.
