As soon as the narrative got out that
he was a minor crossing state lines
to flounce around open-carrying serious firepower
to protect the used car lots of total strangers for free...
...total strangers whom we saw deny him under oath
like Peter denying Christ 3x before the cock crows...
...it should have been obvious to the most casual NES observer
that Kyle had been playing stupid games,
and was gonna win stupid prizes.
He may beat the
rap,
but the entire world is watching him
get the
ride that can't be beat.
It's actually easy for us on NES to
overstate some of the impact on him,
even as we may not fully grasp the fuzzier consequences.
He is in such deep crap that being an FPP
or being unsuitable for a first responder job
may be the least of his worries.
God grant that the vast majority of NESers
who only carry guns for self-defense
(and not hunting or target-practice or other avocations)
go to their grave not actually having to use their guns
to protect their loved ones or their nation.
He might be someone who might never have
needed
the guns that a post-conviction FPP brand will deny him.
And plenty of people make a living without being employed as cops/fire/EMS.
But OTOH I agree that he could be in for a hard road
with PTSD (or civil judgments) no matter the criminal outcome.
We can admire his generous spirit and marksmanship
and detest his ordeal
even as we deplore his prudence.

This.
I just posted a summary and audio link over in
this post.
A.k.a. "ire roasted".
