.223 Words of Advice?

Not everyone cares or intends to “make the jump”. Lots of folks are happy with bolt guns because they do certain things better than most semi-autos and making a jump would be more like making a fall.

You’re older than me, and that’s not a boomer comment. Bolt guns are used for different shooting disciplines, and there’s plenty that are interested in that and aren’t using it as a stepping stone to shoot semi-autos. It’s like saying “when you’re ready to make the jump from pistol to a long gun.”. Lots of pistol shooters are interested in shooting pistol and aren’t making a jump, boomer.

Cute but stupid.

Bolt guns equipped with either a box mag or an AICS mag can accept longer heavier bullets loaded to COALs exceeding SAAMI or Mil specs. This transforms the .223.
It's got less to do with the fact that it's actually a bolt gun vs a gas gun. It's got everything to do with magazines that allow the round to be loaded long and chambers that are designed to work with these rounds.

A .223 loaded with a 90 grain ELD is still going 1500 fps at 1000 yards.

This is one of my reloads next to a standard length 5.56 round. There is no comparison.

It's all good. Tone is sometimes hard to gauge when reading or when writing.
