Yeah, I know it was a joke but maybe you aren't familiar with Fortis. You don't exactly get a budget build with them. Not surprised he's waiting on sights. It's my favorite rail next to Diamondhead.
I wasn't planning on making it a budget build. I just decided to put the AR together, take a break and then buy some BUIS/red dot.
Budget, no budget, doesn't matter. Its damn nice! Love the fortis rail, its a rugged lite rail. Nice build.

18" Noveske Switchblock build i did a couple years ago, but added an fde fixed carbine stock. Have not shot it yet with the stock but it feels comfortable and no issue looking through the eotech setup. Had a full sized ACE skeleton stock on it prior.

Windham with magpul furniture. Waiting on a fixed magpul stock and can't decide on a sight yet.
After an 11 month wait the stamp finally arrived! I'll be taking her out tomorrow for testing.

I finally got an EOTech for Christmas for my Rock River lower and Adams Arms upper that I built a few years ago
Love the Gen II Noveske lower. Really pissed that they're discontinued. I'm eyeing a lower on GunBroker, but I'm not sure I feel like spending $260....
Finally done. Budget "SPR" esque build.
All in with optic, under $1000. Built it over the course of the last year.

You can find chainsaw Gen 2 all over the net for $220. Mine was a chainsaw. Really can't find any flaw on it. I love noveske, especially the parts that sprinkles.

Haven't been able to test at the range yet. It's an extremely nice piece of kit with a small 1.75 moa red dot and 10 brightness settings, I'm sure target acquisition is going to be fast even at long distances. It's kind of heavy but extremely robust, i can't imagine i won't like it after using it. I Love Trijicon quality.

New AR build complete and test fired
I completed this build in mid-December 2013 but just got the chance to take it to the range early this morning and run some rounds through it. 60 rounds of .223 brass (PMC) on a cold morning with no problems. Had the scope zeroed in at 100 yards in about 6 or 7 shots. Runs great! I am hoping that the LOP on this build is going to be OK for my 11 year old grandson. My other ARs are setup for adult shooters. This will be better for him.

I completely agree with the fact that the rifle looks great, and he did a good job. I was "not sure if serious" regarding your "20 inch barrel" comment.

First Build and it came up great no problems doing it plus not a single scratch on the lower or upper ... well Not like it would it make any difference.
