This is stupid, I know, but I have always wanted to try this. I put this together around a $189 Palmetto upper that I just got, along with an 80% lower that I had finished and some other parts I had laying around. I've got all of $250 into this thing so far. It needs a mag catch and selector that I have coming in a group buy, and I will need to get a bolt if I don't just want to use it with my .22 conversion.

I picked up three cans of camo Rustoleum at Home Depot on my way home from work today.

Actually pretty good job there - I like how it came out.

I was gonna do this, but chickened out, and am having some furniture hydro dipped in multicam, for a build I'm doing now.

My buddy did it with fishnet stockings. The camo pattern was pretty cool.

Still need to figure out a bipod and determine how much i'm willing to spend on a scope, but this is my new rifle (3rd AR, after a plain jane 5.56 and a 9mm)

Working on a wood stock for it (Remington 1110 fits with minor mods), just trying not to pay a pile just for one I can play around with

My PTR-91 is officially no longer the biggest thing in the safe

I'm doing another with an 18" barrel. Just waiting on parts.

If you're willing to share, do you have a ball park on what you're into on that? i'm trying to figure out how i did with mine (obviously not the same level of build, just curious)

Here is a shot of my .50 Beowulf.
This is their entry level upper on an Anderson stripped lower I built up.
Stock and trigger guard are Magpul.
The pistol grip, hand guard, scope rings, and mags I painted.
(can't believe they don't make FDE 10rd Pmags!)
Scope is a Nikon Prostaff Shotgun Hunter.

It's new I think, right now I think there's only 12 and 15". But I bet they make more variants.
