I'm just wondering why they didn't bring up that another pandemic, not covid19, is almost certainly going to happen in the future, leaving them to once again restrict the gin shops. Focusing on just covid19 seems a bit limiting.
The Volstead Act was repealed.. . . leaving them to once again restrict the gin shops.
Nothing will happen, this is the PRM. Our Overlords have total power over us serfs and they know it. No Democracy in this State for us Joe's and Jane's.Is there anything happening with this case? I tried looking it up but cant find anything. With the uptick in cases and fall approaching I could see it happening again.
It continues. The Commonwealth is trying to get the case dismissed. No dates have been set for future hearings. I'll try to keep up with the docket. Is there anything happening with this case? There’s plenty of Majority Rule Democracy in MA, and nowhere near enough Constitutional Republic rule..Nothing will happen, this is the PRM. Our Overlords have total power over us serfs and they know it. No Democracy in this State for us Joe's and Jane's.
I just realized after reading something that Massachusetts is in a "State of Emergency". I had no idea.
Anyhow, I went to COVID-19 State of Emergency and did not see anywhere that gun shops were to reopen. Should that be under "Rescinded Orders"?
What about firearms licensing?
How do those get listed there?
Anyone? Bueller?

I love that they point to a High Standard .22 Revolver listing on NES as "proof" that the 2nd Amendment was not impacted because Wally World had .22LR ammo still.

How is Bruen helping us in Massachusetts now with this new legislation? Yeah maybe 5+ years from now it may make a difference in some long drawn out court case but in the interim it’s not doing anything substantial. All that was pre-Bruen. Bruen has already produced several district level cases on out of staters possessing while traveling - and 4885 contains an exemption now that was highly likely to have been influenced by those cases. How is Bruen helping us in Massachusetts now with this new legislation? Anyone thinking Bruen is going to save us is delusional. Look at how many people on here are worried about making sure all their firearms are registered even though the system hasn’t been built yet. The vast majority of gun owners in this state do not have the desire to stand up and defend their God-given, Constitutionally protected rights.
I agree, I’m not doubting the impact Bruen will have in the long run. But for the time being we are going to have to live with the potential consequences of this legislation.Bruen has already produced several district level cases on out of staters possessing while traveling - and 4885 contains an exemption now that was highly likely to have been influenced by those cases.
Then step up to the SJC implementation/interpretation of Breun in Canjura
Things are in motion
This legislation was punishment for Bruen and an attempt to shift the baseline to a point where we would be happy with just returning to what we had before.I agree, I’m not doubting the impact Bruen will have in the long run. My point was that the politicians weren’t dissuaded by Bruen to pass this type of legislation and the courts didn’t drop a ruling out of the sky and put an injunction in place immediately.
