Thinking you need 2 condoms for a chick before diving in makes me think maybe not do her.

No manufacturer is going to take "just the FCU" either, on a warranty claim or for service. How are you going to troubleshoot a gun without all the parts?
I also literally wouldn't be able to trust the swapped in FCU in that gun without testing it, anyways.
You're still going to need all the other parts, and presumably under your black van fairytale, theyll start regulating those, too.
It's always a dumber idea than just buying more guns.
This is another marketing gimmick to get overthinking skinflints to buy stuff. It's brilliant, actually, but I hope glock doesn't ruin their
platform with it, I don't think there's a way to get an interchangeable FCU like Sig has without turning it into a f***ing school bus.

Nah, FCUs are a fantastic idea. Think about it: you wake up, disassemble your night stand gun, reassemble it into a smaller package, and carry it all day; when you get home, you disassemble it again and reassemble it as a larger HD gun. Rinse and repeat every day. No, I always give credit where credit is due. @Reptile is right about quite a few things, even if he's (she's? it's?) wrong about quite a few things more.
Reptile's all right. Its posts force us to think outside the box, and that's not a bad thing. Even though the world outside that box is a scary place, coated with AstroGlide.

Example: one CCW, and one full size range gun/bedside gun. CCW FCU needs to be sent back, but you don’t want to carry the full size.
Yeah, crazy scenario because I’ve never had to send a pistol back that I trust for defense. I’m just trying to point out that it’s a silly idea for people to have one FCU for multiple gun setups (outside of silly European laws).

I mean, I’ve ended up swapping my P365 frame out for a P365X/XL frame and I’m happy about the swap. Cost me $40 instead of a new gun.
I’ve also got a P320 FCU with a Gray Guns trigger that I’ve swapped between a Flux Raider and a Brouwer 1811 frame for occasional bullseye shooting. It’s not a pain in the ass when it’s like once a month.
But for your scenario, sadly it is the reality for people in certain countries who are limited on the number of firearms.

Thats a long winded way of saying you suck at shooting but ok.
I can see for those who live in places they're limited on the number of guns they can have, but we don't have such limitations here. The FCU benefits are minimal.
I never wore out a Glock frame. But, if it fell off me while on my Ruckus, the frame would be scraped. I would not like that.
With a FCU, I could swap out the damaged frame for a new one and it would be like having a new gun.

Let's be honest, there are already only four Glocks: 17, 20, 42, and 43. The rest is plastic. With an FCU, like sig, they can get down to 2... maybe 1?

Glocks shoot just fine out the box.. they run pretty good
