I wouldn't bother.
I bought one October 31st of this year; tried it out for the night but didn't find it at all comfortable, so I returned it the next day. Think I'll try out a different one next October 31st.

Yes, although I'd weigh and measure the round just to be sure. Counterfeits are usually thicker or lighter, and often have a proof-like finish.

In the coin world, it's called "toning", and for collectible coins, it's considered desirable in some circles. It's very easy to get rid of it, if you like, using just baking soda, aluminum foil (required) and boiling water, using this technique:

I agree. Something does not feel right.
Tend to agree with pinefd. I would never clean a coin with numismatic value. But coins that have no value except for their (silver) content, I have no problem with cleaning.

I think the rally will fizzle by Friday close - but I hope I’m wrong.
Thinly traded week, should be easy for banks to manipulate gold down below $2000.

Yeah it would take a major intervention by the billion banks to drive gold under $2000 for the year. We’ll see if the conspiracy theorists are correct tomorrow. My gut says we’ll finish above $2050.
