Food for thought [wink]

No 18. [crying]

for those of us not so Glock savvy, can you give a legend of which model is which?

First pic, across the top-
21 (45)
30 (45)
31 (357)

middle (all 40)-
27, 23, 22, 35, 24

bottom (all 9)-
17, 26, 17L

Some may think I'm crazy, but for years I've been assembling as many 3rd gen MA compliant guns as I can. My goal is to have one of every model. Don't ask me why, I just remember an old timer at a gun store I once visited who said- "I've got one of every model in 3rd gen all lined up in the safe". It stuck and I was hooked. 3rd gen 9mms have proven the hardest to find, and I gave up looking for long slides in 3rd gen, so I settled with 2nd. The only disclaimer is that the 23 is a factory frame replaced 2nd gen. If I find a true 3rd gen, I will sell this one.

I really like the long slide ones. If you are ever looking to move the 17L, let me know! Thanks for sharing!

I've always liked the long slides too. My G24 is nice, but I picked up a G20 long slide recently that is pretty unique. It's a prototype for what is essentially the LoneWolf Dist G20T, but has no markings on it.

I'm scared! Some of those guns are pointed in unsafe directions...

... at each other! It's a massive KA-BOOM just waiting to happen!

Where is your g19?

Still looking for a MA compliant 3rd gen. Its been pretty hard. The closest I came was a Dxxxxx serial.

I've actually had some issues with the 17L. It doesn't seem to like factory loads with the stock recoil spring. I had to throw a reduced power one in there to get it to cycle properly. I have to play around to get a setup I like.

I run a pretty light load in the 24. Around 4.3grn (haven't fully worked that out yet). Its similar to firing a light 9mm now, and more accurate at distance.

To run a 9mm ported conversion barrel with factory target ammo in my G24 I had to drop down to a 14# spring. The longslides are significantly heavier than their full-size counterparts.

When I had my 17L it had serious ejection issues, kept hitting me on the head with brass, etc. No messing with springs helped. I sent it to Glock, they "did something" to it, and then it acted a lot better when it came back, no more problems... and was fine with stock G17 spring.

My guess is "something isn't right" with yours.

Where is your g19?

and where's your G36 ?

I have the G17, G19, G26 & the Kel-Tec Sub 2000 to keep my 9mm's company.

I also have the G21, G30, G36 and the Kriss Super V to keep my 45's company.

My G17 was my first, and probably my favorite even though I haven't fired it in over a year.
My G36 is my carry gun. I think I'm done buying Glock's although I might buy a second G36 and or G21.
Maybe a G17L too. Never say never [grin] .

Were those ever even available in the US? I wonder if they make a C-MAG for the G18?

They are available in the US now provided you have the appropriate FFL/SOT. They were first imported in 87, though, so mere [STRIKE]serfs[/STRIKE]citizens are forbidden from owning them. (Lest we turn them on our natural rulers or some such bull).

Hmmm.... mine ejects to the right, but keeps not fully cycling. A lot of stovepipes. When it does cycle, it works fine. And I ran through about 200 rnds with a 12lb spring with no issues. I'm going to try a 14lb, but I need another guide rod, since I pirated from my 24.

I guess if I could find a 36, I would buy it.......

I'm starting to understand why it's hard to find a good glock model 19.You own all of the Glocks. I have a 1rst gen Glock 22 with a Crimson trace laser and a recently aquired Glock 23C.Do you advise getting a 19c barrel and mags for the 23c to do a conversion? I'm new to the world of carrying Glocks.never felt safe with a round in the tube while carrying. My shooting buddies are trying to conver me.I generally carry one of the Sigs,Smith's, or a Colt on half cock notch for that.At the same time ,I feel pretty well armed with 2"Smith model 66 or a 649 bodyguard with crimson trace laser grips as well.
I bought the 23C after I checked the ballistics on some 40 S&W ammo. The Winchester silver tip came out on top for my money.1240 fps with an energy factor of 501.My Sig and Colt 45's have trouble matching that .The Sig 229 in 40 matches it but is heavier than the Glock for all day carry. The 23c seems to be the best combination of weight ,caliber and capacity.Gee,maybe you already figured all of this out and that's why you have so many Glocks.Thoughts?
