A wise man, I think it was Gerry said, 'Gee I wonder where all those bullets are going to end up'

If you look close it says 'no targets on the crossbars. I fetched a gallon of red paint, a roller and a pint of slightly pissed off and painted the frames bright rustoleum red and with some white spray paint, freshened up the request with a bit more contrast.

I brought down screws, a couple plywood sheets and a chainsaw, managed to replace 4 panels

How about a vote, do we re-do the frames like the 200/300 with a tool-less plywood change? Make some extras available?

Looks good

Let's get the funds approved for AR500 posts and AR500 plates and install them in the ground with cement. That should never be a problem for those steels.

Target holders have a finite life that is a fact. Keeping them off the listens advisable, but expecting them to be a low maintenance item is a fool's errand.

Its amazing, the ones at the 200/300 are 6 to 8 years old

No budget review necessary. Back in spring I offered to donate a complete steel arrangement from the company that keeps getting recommended in this thread. 1” ar550 kyl plate rack from mgm.

Offer still stands el presidente!

I've looked at them quite a bit but wish they had 1/2 inch ar500, the 100 is a real high volume range and folks would be aiming for the bolts in no time, maybe a doubled up RR tie

They can do that too. You tell me the specs desired and I’ll let you know when delivery will be.

I heard jerry will even volunteer to install it all!

I like the KYL plates, but if you look at the rack, it'd be scrap metal in a week. It looks like their hangers are built for 1 inch pipe, I'd like to see a 2 inch DOM pipe or heavy wall or solid 4340 bar. Our hardest time is folks shooting out the bolts or chains on purpose, we had targets chained to a pipe and on day 3 the pipe had more than a dozen holes punched in it, 14 inches higher than the targets. One club member built a beautiful 4x4 steel Tee, they shot the stand to hell again. I suppose a KYL type target where there's only one pivot at the top, just a flat of AR with a couple bolt holes and we can let the destruction guide the hangar mount.

The “public range target” by mgm has no hardware that can be shot. It’s a simple design that works great

Until the board gets serious about the problem, anything can and will be destroyed by determined a**h***s. If it makes you feel better, put it there. Just don't get pissed off when it gets shot to shit.

The 'Hat Creek' one looks of interest as well, seems much more sturdy and uses uhmw attachments,
Nothing is as sturdy as their public range target. The issue at hand was the steel gong and support structure being shot up and made unusable. The public range target will solve that issue 100%.

It appears to be idiot resistant, somewhat! possibly flippable to normalize wear.

Start booting people from the club. But without cameras and without turning it into a culture of rattting out others, I don’t know how that can happen.
Agreed, the number of boots out the door is low at HSC, Always curious the mindset of those that just wreck stuff and or leave a mess and walk off.

Agreed. The club isn’t easy to get into and it’s annoying people treat it like crap. It’s the best place to shoot around, why make it worse or jeopardize your membership.

Lets see what MGM says for turnaround.

Someone definitely thought "Oh these are still good, maybe ill leave them here for someone else to shoot at"
so there's a chain and a screw link on the ground, guess it tore it clean out of the back. Waiting on a steel delivery at the club, hopefully they deliver before the weekend. Club does a good job at turning iron into scrap metal.

Most shit there happens from same ppl I bet.

The question really becomes if you catch someone doing this are you saying something to them, reporting them to the BOD or doing nothing. The 100 is a busy place so I think it’s mostly people seeing it and just minding their own business. In life it’s not a bad thing but crap keeps going on.

When I come to shoot there is usually no one there, but at times I had others there it was all civil. People probably do stupid shit when it is not shared.
Dunno. Sad.
