Harvard Sportsmen's Club

I'm certain I'm not the only one who got the email from HSC on the petition, and where you fall on the idea can be discussed in all other threads, but really 150 out of 3000, its no wonder MA gun owners continue to get the end of the stick with extra $hit on it. NOTE: HSC has almost 3000 members, roughly 1,800 get this email. I think we are under 150 signatures. Grab your friends, grab everyone, drag them to the club to sign. !!!!

I can only hope the other 1650 signed elsewhere. Now, lets get back to complaining about the steel on the 100, that will fix everything.

FWIW, I haven't received emails from HSC even though I'm on the list, supposedly. I get most of the going-ons from here. Please post the details.

To add another option for Club members, their friends, and family, HSC will have signature forms available on the following evenings (6:16pm - 8pm) in September in the Clubhouse.

I will organize the Referendum forms, and oversee this activity on these evenings:

  • Thursday, Sept 19th
  • Thursday, Sept 26th
  • Thursday, Oct 4th

Please be aware of the following:

  1. Signature must be legible. Blue or black ballpoint pen must be used
  2. No smudge marks or corrections to the Form are allowed
  3. Printed name is acceptable and must be substantially as registered
  4. Registration details per voter / signer can be looked-up here: https://www.sec.state.ma.us/voterregistrationsearch/myvoterregstatus.aspx
  5. The Signer must be registered to vote in the town is which he/she resides"

Does the state mandate that someone has to be there to watch you sign? There's zero chance I'm making it out to the club in the evenings, unfortunately; would be great if forms were just left out for signature or whatever.

Need to get down there. Curious though, the needs to be legible on the signature. Most signatures are not legible, I know mine is not. And if I tried to make it that way, it wouldn't match any other signature I've done. Is that some way they are going to be able to void a bunch of them?

Printed name is a legitiment signature in Massachusetts

I signed at Ma**h*** firearms, they had a stack of sheets by town

Substantially means 'to a great or significant extent '. So I would assume it doesn't have to be exact. Ie) middle initial on the form and no middle initial on the voter registration
Exactly. When I went to sign the other day, they had me look up my exact registration details on the ma.gov site to see if it had my middle initial. I printed the form exactly as my registration showed. (Thanks to the person collecting signatures for pointing that out to me)..

Imagine being on the other side of that berm on the 65 yard range…
Just go to the Back 40 range while someone is starting to sight in a larger caliber at the 25....or shooting a DEagle at the 7/10. The roof over the Back 40 gets sprayed with dirt and rocks and you can hear it hit the roof.

I was shooting in one of the action pits yesterday and noticed that the side berms were getting a bit low in some places. Who is in charge of evaluating the berms? I realize that refreshing the action pit berms is not a small undertaking…

@ddeck I'd guess it was my DEagle on the 7 yesterday about 1PM.

Sorry for the incoming flak.
No worries!

It's happened before so I'm used to it. It was a little disconcerting when I first noticed it a couple years ago...I thought it was raining at first...then I realized what it was.

Was at the back 40 this morning and noticed the contraption for picking up the brass. Pretty nice. I guess I'm getting grumpy and cynical in my old age, but I wonder how long it will stay there. It was raining this morning so the club was empty but there were 2 cars coming in as I was leaving. There are at least 2 other screwballs at Harvard.
