Harvard Sportsmen's Club

The backstop isn't that high and .22lr has a lot of drop at 200 and 300. I suspect they are worried about people getting their dope wrong and a round exiting the range.
I get it, but even if someone was stupid enough and shot high the round probably wouldn't even make it to the road, definitely never make it past that field.

But I digress...Not my range, not my rules :)

Are you saying that the club's failure to keep records means that I have to requalify? Not a big deal if that's the case, since range time is always good time. I'll check to see if I have an old card with a sticker on it.

And I did "follow the process". Perhaps I need to follow it again :D
Harvard doesn't do new cards every year. Find the old one with the sticker.

Yeah, it could. Sprague Woodworking looks to be almost directly in line with the 200/300 and only about 1,000 yards from the firing line. You can send a .22lr round over 1,000 yards. It might not have much energy left at the end of that distance, but it could still have devastating consequences to the club.

I understand the desire to shoot past 100 yards. But I also understand the reasoning behind the rules. And just reading this thread, it is clear that there are more a few knuckleheads at every club.

I've joined one club in NH and I'm considering a second. Both of those clubs make me long for the freedom available at Harvard.

You know, for all my wishful thinking to be able to do this and that at Harvard, I do agree that we have it pretty darn good overall. I've been to many states that don't have anything like Harvard.

Was at Harvard a few hours ago and the plate rack at the 25 wasn’t working,I thought I was hitting them but the bar that lifts them had a broken spring,I didn’t have a bungee or anything to get it to work.At least I didn’t suck as bad as I thought.

NGL I hate this time of year - I can only get to the range on weekends and the biathlon folks have a monopoly on the best range (65yd). It especially chaps my ass when there's some non-members there practicing and even if I arrive 2hrs before the range is open, they are there running their laps. #firstworldproblems #enjoythemuzzlebrakenextdoor

I'm sorry I missed your message, yes the spring broke and left the chat. lifting bar got shot to heck, its been pulled again for repair, might have to improvise a spring.

You could join the biathlon crew and have a lot of good fun and exercise!!

The new steel target at the 100 seems to be holding up well. The paint was all shot off by the end of the first day so I re-painted it this morning. Anyone know why the porta potty was removed from the end of the 50 yard range, returned a few days later and placed right in front of the container for the range supplies?
