Well that was a whole bundle of fun! I didn't get any pictures but the 100yd bridge should be good for another 20 years or so! Thanks to everyone that showed up and pitched in and maybe went for a dip in the swamp.

With so many people and so much equipment, the bridge re-build was pretty quick and painless. Thanks to all who showed up.

Didn't get to shoot yesterday so I'll check out the new bridge while I'm shooting today. It's much wider but we should probably add a couple of Ed rails (hand rails} to keep Ed from falling into the swamp again and also so the idiots have a place to staple their targets.

Well, that didn't take long. The new bridge was completed by late morning yesterday. I was there early this morning and the nit wits had already shot it 5 times.

I'm guessing it was a severe flinch that pulled the bullets low left.

Was it clear of holes when you walked down to set up targets?
Gotta ask because it seems bullet holes in random things tend to follow you around

The damage was done on the day that the bridge was re-built, and I didn't walk down to set up targets. I was practicing my off-hand shooting. Shooting at the steel.

That's inexcusable. If anyone saw the shooter that is so lacking in proficiency and safe gun handling that they are shooting the bridge, they should be reported to the BOD. That is not a safe member of the club. Period.

PSA: The town is digging up the road and putting in new sewer? pipes and paving

Yeah, I asked the detail cop this morning and he said the Whitcomb Ave end will likely be closed for several more days unless it snows. When it snows they usually stop work for the season. It's supposed to snow Wed night into Thursday. It looks like someone was trying to hit the steel, Sunday afternoon and flinched so badly that they hit the bridge a few times. The damage is very minor and nothing needs to be done except stop shooting the bridge.
