Help Me Understand

There is nothing wrong with the gun. Not sure what is so "retarded" about it.
I’m not a “specs” guy, but there are lighter alternatives with higher capacity. In fact, that’s all the alternatives.

I’ve already posted my experience with a PM9 and Kahr in great detail. You are free to ignore it.

Everything is a compromise.
More rounds = bigger gun.

I own a SIG 365, I own a PPS with the paddle mag release (still one of the thinest guns), I own Glocks and a bunch of other guns.

I want something smaller that is not a revolver.
Although small revolvers are nice, carrying extra ammo is a pain in the a**. Keep in mind I don't wear XL baggy clothing.

I have shot one. It felt fine to me. Nothing great, but not as bad as the SP2022 trigger. Talk about sh*t triggers, that thing feels like a 100 yard pull.
Lmao I had one, couldn’t hit the board side of a barn door with it
Wound up with a G43 when they became available

Incidentally I love my 2022 and the khar is like the first pull but on a way smaller gun every single time

I’d feel bad for anyone within 20 degrees of the target if I ever had to use the thing in self defense

Plus the founder is a cult leader

And so was his father

ETA I k ow you didn’t ask… but you know where you are

I owned a Kahr CW45 for a while. Traded that thing up for an FNX-45. The plastic Kahr uses just didn't feel like it would hold up to round count. Then again, I got the C level Kahr for the poors. Maybe the P level ones are built much better.

There is definitely still a place for this gun in 2025 at least for me because no other 9mm disappears in my front pocket like my CM9. Not my G43 and not my 365. This gun is definitely the smallest I feel you can get with a 9mm and still shoot it well and that long buttery smooth trigger pull is definitely more comforting having it that close to my femoral artery and my junk

I bought my KAHR PM9 for $300 new with only one magazine through it. I really like this gun but it is a beast to break in. It takes about 200 rounds plus to get it working smoothly. You might want to get a small revolver for back up. Shop around there are a few gun owners out there that aren't happy with the break in period of this gun.;)

I am looking for a Kahr PM9. I want to give my business to a local FFL.

But everyone has them used for $500-600.
Gun Broker has them NEW for $340-400 (free shipping, no CC fees).

Even NES (expected) had them more expensive than GB.

WTF am I missing?

They are in the approved roster, so that is not it.

Also, I don't care what you carry or your opinion on the Kahr. I am buying one.

What are the local shops getting for the gun new?

I know nothing about this gun, so I don't care about your opinion of it, either.

I know my local FFL is always bitching about how low online places can sell for, and he has a particular hatred toward PSA. Since I usually buy used when I find a good deal, I don't have to listen to too much of his griping - after all, when I get a Mossberg 500 for under $150, how can anyone bitch at that deal?

What you are missing is that you talk to your friendly ffl and then proceed to buy the gun off GB and throw a $50 to the ffl for not slapping you silly cuz you want that gun in the first place holly run-on sentence I claim English as a second language defense

MSRP doesn't mean anything.
No considerable research is needed besides spending 10 seconds opening GB and typing: "Kahr PM9."

What they used to sell for 10 years ago doesn't matter.

What’s your point of this thread then? Just calling out MA gun prices being strangely higher than everywhere else even for roster guns? Dude, you’re not new here. Buy one off GB. Transfer it to your FFL and do the transfer there.

Buy it used

Kahr's hold like 0 resale value... good for you for supporting a shop but you really can get good deals on f2f's on kahrs.

I ended up with like 8 of them in nh because i could find them with like 5 mags for 300 bucks.

Its a fine compact carry

They shoot well and carry nice.

I thought you were a big guy tho? I always had a hard time trying to draw it from a holster...the grip is too small and my hands are too big.

But office pocket carry they fill that role nice

Opus was awesome!

I love it when people get obsucre references. The mailman came into the office yesterday. HAnded me the mail (I was in the lobby) and on top was Reader's Digest.

"Oh, Red Digest."

He looked at me and smirked big-time. My two young assistants had that questioning look. He said, "It's MASH." (Col Flagg. Frank is reading Reader's Digest. And Flagg tells him that if you remove 3 letters, it's Red Digest. LOL)

I'm 56. My mail guy has to be 35. That was MEGA obscure for him. The only other person that would get it is my brother. Although I use "It's nice to be nice to the nice" about once a week.

I have a Pachymar grip sleeve on mine. Makes all the difference in the world on the CM9. And because the grip is so thin it adds no real bulk so it still disappears in my front pocket. Edit: I am in no way trying to answer for Broc Tuah I'm just stating how mine is set up.

It was never a grip thing for me. I had no real issue with that

It was just if i tried iwb i could never grab it right

The grip was too small length wise

Did they ever fix the direction of the safety?
I had one 10+ years ago, and the safety was a sweep down for safe/sweep up for fire. Literally the exact opposite of everyone else.

Not that i know of. The whole idea was not so great to begin with. Kahr would have been better off just letting the rugsweep market do it's thing, like Glock did.
