Cool, that's fine, I have a lightweight AR for SHTF when I need my arms free to carry stereos from the local Walmart.
hahaha... that's good..

still say go get a scar instead
So between M1A, FAL, HK91, AR-10, SCAR (what else, Sig 716?) what should one get if you can only get one .308?
Here's my new to me PTR91..... DOES it have an adjustable gas block. .. i haven't played with it yet..

Trick question, Jack or do you really not know?
M14 for me.
I agree, go SCAR. Whenever i get the dough, i will own one.
Thats the reason i went with a heavy 308 reduced recoil, along with a limb saverNo. And you might not want one. .308 has a lot more recoil than .223. The weight helps reduce the felt recoil.
All of these .308s are pretty big, heavy guns.
Of the M14, the FAL and the HK91 I think the HK is definitely the least pleasant to actually shoot (the M14 wins there), but something about its violent dependability makes it all worthwhile. I've had thoughts of selling mine over the years but I'm glad I haven't gone through with it.
What's the obsession with SCARs, it seems like not an ideal design, it's really expensive, and in Mass at least you can't utilize a major feature, the folding stock, and tehre are no pre-bans.

I have a lightweight AR10, no issue with recoil. It shoots very flat
Big loud compensator on the front?

You can mod fal mags.
Folding stocks get boring .
Anyone dumping 2700 on SCAR btw doesn't care about massisms.

That's amazing. I could never go that many rounds without cleaning my FAL. It has sentimental value for me though. And honestly I couldn't afford to shoot mine that often!

Its lightweight, comes with a decent trigger, it's reliable, and isnt a piece of shit. Anyone dumping 2700 on SCAR btw doesn't care about massisms.

Just because you want it is a good enough reason.
Well, that sounds great but, do you think his wife will buy that?
I really had no clue, I hadn't taken a close look at this gun yet... but!!! I have it next to me right now along with the manual I can't seem to find.... and I'm gonna bone up on this baby...
I've seen your M14's.... you inspired me to get my 1st one... can you post a few pics here...
Thanks Mike, those look great.. so I watched a good vid on Youtube for the take down of the 91... looks pretty easy... found my owners manual, again.... very simple.. I look forward to a little range time now..
But it also has an adjustable gas system, make for a nice fast, flat 308
Haven't you been following along? Adjustable gas systems are evil.
