Is It Possible To Render A "GLOCK Switch" Inoperable And Legal To Possess For Use As Jewelry?

What if somebody wanted to make a Glock Switch into a piece of ghetto jewelry - like as a pendant?

Can it be "de-milled" so it still looks real but would be legal to own?

I think it would make a cool pendant and show thug status and a middle finger to "the man" if these were made into jewelry.

A machine shop could also make a solid Glock Switch look alike shape with no internal workings and a hook to attach to a pendant.

If I make a solid chunk of aluminum in this shape and etch GLOCK on it it's same as a 0% Lower Receiver.

Similar to gold jewelry in the shape of a small gun or grenade or brass knuckles I think this would be a great idea to sell.

Any thoughts?

Switch doesn't need "internal workings". The issue is the protrusion that holds the trigger bar down. Internal workings only give it support to toggle semi and full. Without the button, it's full all the time. Even without that, in theory, you need to be careful of constructive intent, as someone could just add the protrusion to the jewelry. Of course they could with any back plate.

You could make a jewelry version with the bar on the wrong side, or with the wrong dimensions so it wouldn’t fit.

It would look close enough for jewelry but not be a functional part.

Agree, use wrong dimensions so it wouldn't fit.

That is a brilliant idea!

I could even have a working switch but no protrusion.

If it was 5 mm out of spec it would not fit on any Glock.

I'd love to be a test case.

What could the ATF do?

The device would be useless under any circumstances.

How about an out of spec rectangular cube without the switch cylinder and instead use that hole where the switch was to run a necklace through it? I can get a 20 inch chain necklace and have 20 mock Glock Switches all around like one of those chains that Eddie Murphy wore in Coming To America.

That would be Ghetto Fabulous!!!

Well the BATFE like to ''assume'' sometimes. Like the case of the ''AutoKeyCard''.

''the ATF decided the cards were close enough to auto sears to fall under the machine gun restrictions under the Firearms Owners’ Protection Act amendment of the National Firearms Act.''

They might send the thought police to your house.

They could arrest you and cost you a lot of money defending yourself to get the case thrown out of court.

If you're that juvenile in your thinking.....DO IT, AND POST YOUR RESULTS.

That line of thinking is on par with the three stupid 12 and 14 year old morons who thought it was a good idea to pull an armed robbery on an armed guy in their own housing complex on Christmas day, looking for some kind of "street cred".

have you heard of the auto key card and the dude that is currently in the federal vacation home due to advertising it, even though prior to being arrested the ATF told him it is 100% legal?

You'd rot in jail for 6 months while the ATF engineering team did a detailed examination of the device, and likely determine it is a machine gun.

Would they let you wear your Oakley ski goggles in jail?

Remember the Maadi-Griffin 50BMG? The guy who made that kit felt he had complied with every technicality to comply with the law. The feds disagreed, he told them to pound sand when they told him to knock if off, and he was convicted.

A likely anti-gun court is going to control exactly what one can say in their defense. The prosecution will be presenting a duck argument that it is a machine gun (as in "looks like a MG, quacks like a MG, it's a MG).

Understand Captain America GIF

Dude's on fire today.

In the past the ATF has banned certain guns administratively because they are considered too easy to convert to full auto. Open bolt semi auto UZIs and an older Kimber .22 model with an open bolt come to mind - both legal to possess but not legal to manufacture (according to the ATF).

They could try the same with anything based on the Glock type of design, but the pushback would be enormous.

Why stop there? I’d add a pair of “lightning link” cuff links or tie clasp. Go for it, make a Flemming Sear lapel pin too.

Here is a pic for you to follow. They only get $40K for a real, registered, transferable one

Challenge the law Reptile.

Put a string through a Magpul 30 rd magazine and walk into your local police station and dare them to arrest you.

It's a necklace, call it a MagLace.

Be a man among boys, show everyone how it's done.

Sacrifice your freedom for ours.

Do it man!
Maybe I'll just tie a shoe lace around a Glock keychain and wear that.

I'm smart enough to know to not mess with things that can kill me - hungry lions in Africa, hippos in Columbia, black mambas in Australia, and box jelly fish in the Pacific.

Folks like the ATF, the FBI, Homeland Security and a whole host of law enforcement types can put me in jail, bankrupt me, take everything I own, and even kill me. It's just good sense to avoid attracting their attention for any reason. ANY REASON.

Wearing a Giggle switch around your neck is like wearing a sign saying "Hey ATF. Sodomize me. Please."

Dam, you are right.

My life is in order and I don't need to stock up on mayo packets.

Just having what looks like a Switch is enough to get scrutenized by the police.

Don't poke the bear.

Mission abort!!!

Why are you always posting shit that basically looks like you want to invite yourself into a jail cell?

Would the Asian girls clear him out in 6 months?

I was thinking about the auto keycard guy.
