The thing that makes this whole charade so obviously an undemocratic farce is the fact that they have to rush it through without input.
Let's assume for a moment that they honestly believe that these measures will save lives and increase public safety and all that. We know they just have a giant hard-on for banning guns at any cost, but let's pretend.
If they honestly believed that, the bills would stand on their own, and withstand all sorts of criticism and public hearings and extended debates and assaults with data. But they don't do that, because any sort of sunlight on the process would reveal how much hoplophobic virtue signaling idiocy it is.
Any argument or position that requires lies or deceit to support it is indefensible.
