Not if the ATF gets their way, and they will. Biden (D, 2020, 81M votes) is moving to require ALL Firearms sales to have background checks in a new rule that is close to being adopted. Just Google it, there were several articles about it just last week. So the days of F2F transactions are coming to an end also. It’s a full court press.

Anyone heard from the NRA on this? Oh that’s right, for the last two decades they’ve just cashed out checks, sent us a $4 nylon bag and squandered tens of millions to enrich themselves. Anyone who remains a member of that organization deserves everything they get.
Yeah I think they dropped sending out the little Jack knifes. Way too dangerous and cuts into Wayne’s Suit budget.

I suppose it's possible that he voted for it in order to preserve some issue under parliamentary procedures. As an example, I believe a vote for reconsideration of a bill or issue can only be called for by someone who voted with the majority on the item in question.
That is interesting.

I'm 100% sure that magazine capacity bans are the *ONLY* thing different between those states. I'm confident they factored in economic health, overall crime rate, access to mental health, employment rate, access to traditional healthcare, etc.

In other news: states that have more cars have more car accidents.
any numbers they attempt to derive lack any sort of statistical significance. you might as well pull out a magic 8-ball.

no, the thing that made me laugh out loud was this:

"
But U.S. Circuit Judge Gustavo Gelpí, who was appointed by President Biden, pointed out that even if the law is upheld, Rhode Islanders can still legally defend themselves by carrying 15 guns with 10-round magazines each. “My experience is you can take them out and put them in very quickly,” he said. “And you can shoot one gun and have another in the other hand if you’re ambidextrous like in a cowboy movie.”
"

No time to read the article.

Did a judge really say that or is that satire?

I did read it. Tell me where it says if your own said items this is what you do with them
If you actually read the whole thing you'll see where it allows possession during actions required to legally dispossess the newly illegal items.

I could tell you exactly what line describes what each dispossessing activity starts on but a plain reading of the bill is enough since it describes what cannot be possess and then describes conditions where the section does not apply (and therefore where it is legal to possess)

It bans shotguns with fixed mags over 5 rounds and exempts says any rifle with a fixed mag that cannot hold more than 5 rounds from being an AW. Over 5 round fixed mag rifles aren’t banned, they just need to comply with the other tests.
So all those 870's and 500/590's will be verboten? So we going almost full Australia?

Yes, that is a valid parliamentary tactic. The real question is then did Tarr exercise this option and call for reconsideration. If not, I would then assert he really does support this sh!t sandwich and should be treated like the quisling he is.

The entirety of this post has been derailed by people looking to scape goat entire departments or taking actions that just in flame why people think we’re nuts.

So maybe just answer the question if you have the cognitive ability to do so with straight facts and not non sense, or internet tough guy trolling ok?

So again, I’ll ask in more simple terms for you:

If you own said property what are you required to do with it by this law period.

Thanks.
I did answer the question, but apparently you can't read. When the time comes- You will have to choose on your own what you are going to do. I can't make it clearer than that. If you were hoping for a buyback or amnesty or something, neither one of those is likely.

If people spent 1/20th of their time calling/emailing their reps/senators, showing up for hearings or doing something useful other than posting on a forum this may have had a slight chance of not moving forward. Going online and ranting about it after the fact does absolutely nothing other than make people feel better.

You're delusional.

It doesn't say anything... the law assumes you're not a toddler. Let me ask you this. . Does the law tell you what to do if you got a large bag of cocaine as a gift? 🤣

If you have a gun in the banned class it becomes contraband in MA upon the enactment date of this law. (Whenever that is) It will be illegal Just like a bag of cocaine. The only difference is unlike cocaine there are 45+ something other states you can move it to and remain legal.

Except the state doesn't already have a record of you buying the cocaine.

You all realize this is like watching Mr. Magoo writing the car specs and procedures for the Indy 500 and are expecting something that you can put a handle on, right?

Actually in the case of the guns the state has no records for a lot of us, either. But "wether they might be able to harass you or not with their data" is still distinct from. "Do you posess contraband" or not.
