Micro 9 suggestions?

Based on practicality? 365 for capacity and aftermarket. They now have this “Rose” line that’s aimed towards women for the cute factor. It’s been the best selling micro for a long time now. I’ve never had one myself, but I’m sure it’s a bestseller for a reason.

There are too many questions unanswered to give a good answer.

1) what is her current skill level and how much does/will she shoot??
2) how large and strong is she in general?
3) how large/strong are her hands?
4) how does she intend to carry it?

These answers can make a big difference what is good for her.

Let's say she intends to carry AIWB and is skilled. Then a P365 is a great gun. (It's always better than any G43 variant because the G43 is larger, holds fewer rounds and shoots worse than a 365. There is literally no reason to get one. )

Let's say she intends to carry in her purse,(Never recommended, but I'm not going to try to change this) has large hands and is modestly skilled.
Then a G17 (in some kind of minimalist holster to cover the trigger) might be the best carry gun for her.

Let's say she isn't terribly strong or skilled and intends to carry in her purse. Then a 380 EZ might be the best gun for her.

Fwiw I have a seecamp 32..
It is a great piece and go anywhere pocket carry. And it is what she has carried in the past. Just looking to supersize things a bit.

I carried a Seecamp 32 for 20 years. It's a very easy gun to carry, but na difficult gun to shoot well.
If you are saying she could shoot it well, then maybe just a bit more of the same. Like a Bodyguard 2.0.
Its .380, holds 10 or 12 rounds, is still very small, but much easier to shoot well than a Seecamp.

I have been around the sun a lot of times now and am yet to see anyone shot a full box of ammo(50 rounds) with a Seecamp. The recoil is awful! If the intent is to carry for self-defense, proficiency with the firearm is an absolute must. If the gun is too hard to shoot, there is no way a person gets proficient.
Meanwhile, a Rose SIG 365-380 is an ideal combo for a lady. The gun is light, the comp reduces recoil significantly, and the fact that it's a 380 makes things even easier. There are many options for self-defense in 380.
Also, Rose is not just colored bits on a gun. SIG has an entire line of women centric training, apparel, and accessories that ladies will appreciate. I am yet to see a woman who got a SIG Rose P365 and did not like it.

The 365 is a good choice. I found my ex Kahr PM9 more solidly built and accurate, but my wife hated the long trigger. She prefers the 365. I have no complaints with it.

I've owned a ton of very small guns over the year. Generally the better it was to shoot, the more I shoot it. Ha. Common sense.

.32 Seecamp - only worked with Winchester Silver Tips per factory requirements. These were expensive and hard to find. I probably shot it 500 rounds in 20 years.
Ruger LCP - I had it for 5 ish years and put about 500 rounds through it. Unpleasant because the front of the trigger guard would slap the back of my trigger finger.

Glock 42. Terrible trigger. Once I installed an aftermarket connector, this gun was so fun to shoot that I actually started reloading .380 to support the fun. Shot it over 1000 rounds in 2 years. Sold it because it wasn't any smaller than my Kahr PM9 and was too large to be an "always gun".

Kahr P380. I have owned this about 10 years and put about 200 rounds / year through it. I've got a lot of .380 reloads left from when I had the Glock. I still own this gun because it is the best shooting very small 380 you can buy. Ammo sensitive, but I now what it likes.

Ruger LCP Max. I've owned this for about a year. It shoots much getter than the LCP. Shoots about as well as a P380 Kahr. Slightly larger but holds 10 rounds. I'll be selling this soon because the Bodyguard 2.0 is no larger and shoots as well as the Glock. I've owned this for 3 months and have already put 500 rounds through it.

I've owned the P9 and PM9. The smaller PM9 is only worth it if you intend to pocket carry it. Once it's in a holster the P9 carries just as well and is even more pleasant to shoot and more accurate. I got rid of my P9 because the P365 held more ammo and was about the same size and weight. I shot both equally well. The P/PM9 trigger is long, with a long reset, but it's not very heavy and is VERY VERY smooth.

Looking for a single stack Micro 9 for the gf..
365, g43, PPS M2, others?

I am a Glock fan, and also really liked the original PPS.. no experience with the 365 or others.
She generally steals my seecamp.. time for her to have her own..

She’d rally like a Tiffany blue or pink…. But, that could always be ceracoated later..

Suggestions?
Can get the classic micro-9 that 'started it all'. The Keltec PF-9 comes in barbie pink

Ehh, some good points in replies above (i.e. - training more with it) but, is she carries it and shoots it enough for SD distances...better than something else that she won't like/carry/shoot. YMMV.

Oh ya.. a 50+ something woman is going to “muscle” and potato chip flip! A potential attacker.. and then choke hold that bad guy into submission.

However, a street smart very aware 50+ woman. With her hand in her purse that can shoot pretty frikken well? Better odds.

Not ALL of us are 19 yr old former seals with Brazilian ju-jitsu Krav maga ninja-fu. That are able to shoot 1k rounds per week doing speznatz tactical rolls.

At some point. It becomes a question of realistic options and trade offs.
A bit off topic sort of......................I caught this show on YT called Active Self Protection or ASP I watch (not to be confused with the Arkansas State Police ASP that I enjoy) that shows ALL KINDS of scenarios having to defend or not having to defend oneself. One vid shows a Van pull into a Gas Station and just as it's rolling to a stop the thugs are out of the van running over the hood of the guys car at the pump with a gun in his face in like 1.5 seconds. Maybe John Wick or Bruce Lee would prevail but that's it. He complied with the robbery. A lot of the vids show a potential victim prevail with situational awareness. The vids are also about NOT escalating into a fight, or knowing when to flee and doing so quick. And then also there's the knuckleheads in these vids that just wanna be thugs. Knowing your surroundings and not going to "the hood" improves your longevity odds. I lectured my neighbor about her daughters walking around our neighborhood with headphones / earpieces on. Thankfully she got that into their heads and they stopped.

And when you get woken up in the middle of the night, 0300, from a sound sleep by a frantically ringing doorbell, you'll find out how proficient you are at opening your bedside safe the first time too!
Not a biometric either, a basic mechanical simplex lock mechanism.
Two tries, about 8 seconds = DEAD, if it truly was a bad person inside the house.
But at least the children were safe because the firearm was locked up to comply with MA laws at all times.
Stop trying to cheer us up. A dog is a good first alert.

I’d also recommend the S&W Shield Plus. My wife has one, and she loves it. It has a crisp trigger, making it a great choice.

My girl shoots occasionally with me as her free time is limited. She needs more time and some instruction. . I could never get her to love a 9mm which sucks because of so MANY more options. She doesn't like the percussion of it. So we got her some 380's. Sheild EZ and Security 380's. I wanted to get her the 380 rose but the grip is smaller that the 9 version. It's like nothing to grap onto. I bought her a nice carry pocketbook but she doesn't use it for carry. And that Philster. Neither me or her look like those models. "We're working on it" 🙄

For those of us who always need to compensate... the newer micro 9s with the comps really do help quite a bit for muzzle flip and quicker follow up shots.
