So, I’m brand new to muzzle loading.
There is lots of information out there about black powder and black powder substitutes in traditional muzzle loaders.
There is a decent amount of information about modern muzzle loaders with inline ignition and smokeless powders.
… but is it safe to use “black powder substitutes” in a modern smokeless muzzleloader to be compliant with MA’s primitive firearm season? Will there be issues with an inline ignition system with the black powder substitutes?
Specifically, I’m looking at a prefit barrel for a bolt action that uses a breach plug and rifle primers.
