New acquisitions for February 2009!

Where did you get your work done Len? I've seen a link to a gentleman in the South Shore area, but I'd prefer to do a FTF drop-off in the Boston Area if possible.

Greg Derr, Derr Precision. I met Greg at a local gun club where he was competing in a match, gave him the guns. Picked them up ~1 week later at another local gun club where he was competing.

Not a gun, but pulled the trigger on an aimpoint 3x mag & larue tac qd swivel mount this afternoon. not from this vendor, but looks like this. will post pics in the AR section when i get it next week. [grin]

DANG!

does it come with the mount? how does the dot look under magnification? I can't find any decent examples online.

Here are the wheel guns I've picked up recently. The S&W 686 today and the Ruger Police Service Six mid Jan. I upgraded the grips on the PSS with some Hogues.

Can't wait to shoot the 686!

My latest:

Smith & Wesson 5906 9mm

Traded with Big Joe on the board here.

I like it. thick, heavy stainless steel.

My two latest S&W's picked up last week, M&P in 9mm, got this from Bass Pro Shop. What a big difference in triggers compared to a Ma. compliant one. Other one is a Model 6904 that has seen little, if any use. This one is going out to CCR refinishing for a new finish.

Picked up these two in a trade with 1903 Collector. Feeling pretty good about the trade and I can't wait to hit the range and test these out.

H&R Garand and a Remmy 1903/A3

I inherited 3 muskets, 2 percussion and 1 flint, today along with this P38. The P38 came with a holster and the magazine is marked with someones name. The origin of the P38 is unknown. It was in my friend's grandfather's collection, unfortunately he passed away long ago so the story was never told of how he got it. My friend likes to think that it was from the war... I did not see any import marks on it, so anything is possible. I'll take pics of the muskets in the next couple of days, 1 is reproduction and the others I'm not sure. Not sure if I would want to be firing them regardless. I kind of like having eyebrows, even if my wife says they look like big caterpillars.

Great score on the P38. It looks near mint.

Yup, it sure does.
By the WaA marks on the r/h side it's a WWII manufacture.
A closeup of the l/h side would reveal the manufacturer and likely the year it was made.

I'll take some more pics of it tonight. All I remember is P38, the SN in 2 locations and a WaA mark.
