Both are Mateba semi-auto revolvers in .44 Mag. 6 & 8" barrels.

I was looking at another model which was SS -- very nice looking gun, with synthetic/wood grips, and I would have got that one but it was only a 5-shot revolver -- that was the deal-breaker for me. My intention was to get a S&W .357, but I found the trigger pull on the Ruger to be much smoother, than even the PRO-series S&Ws.

I think Ruger makes some of the bet actions, period. Especially on their SA's. You rarely have to do anything to them, and they are just superior, IMHO.
