Giving value to these animals is what makes sure there's not a trail of dead ones all over the bush with just gall bladders and peckers cut off by poachers selling that stuff to Japan for soup or some crap.
If the locals catch them they end up with their nuts nailed to a stump
 
The ****er baited the lion out of the preserve so he could shoot it. That's not hunting it's poaching. He's poached bear before too apparently. F him.

I still think it's F'ed up, but you make an interesting point. I used to work for a guy that was into Chinese herbs and he told me some insane figure that an actual tiger penis goes for. The Chinese use almost every part of the cat for their herbal formulas. Or they did until the government got involved and started protecting them

Have people forgot we bait game animals all the time?
Doe piss, deer decoys, duck decoys, buck grunts, elk calls, rattle antlers, food plots, etc..

This guy claims he can hit a playing card at 100 yards with his compound bow yet he only wounded the lion which was killed with a gun 40 hours later. I have no respect for this DB.
 
I'm too concerned with thugs, terrorists, police brutality, rapists (I have a wife and daughter), etc to get overly emotional about a lion in Zimbabwe which I didn't even know exists until this story.

I'm sorry for said lion, but I just spit out my Cheerios reading this line right now! I just can't imagine anyone saying it with a straight face.

Whether we agree or disagree on the matter, I think it's safe to say that no one on either side of the debate would ever think of naming a lion "Cecil". That's like naming a turtle "Pegasus".

This is actually a great summary of my feelings on the matter. It's funny how half of the posters in this thread assume those who feel this way are suddenly bleeding heart liberals, or PETA fans, wtf?![hmmm]
