Police respond to report of shooting at pro-Israeli protest in Newton

So why did they arrest the guy, dumbass? Why’d they charge him?
You do remember the law they just passed here right. Completely goes against the constitution, Bruen, Catano, heller.
But they did it any way. Same as they are doing now. They hate gun owners here. Simple you shouldn’t be allowed to defend yourself in mass. Wait for the police

MA law permits force reasonable to meet the threat. Look it up yourself.
No, you made the statement, now back it up by citing the law you referenced from.

A threat can increase in magnitude very easily and usually does when an attacker gets the better of their victim, like getting knocked to the ground, then come the kicks, punches etc.

I'm not sure where the "He was looking for a fight" thing comes in.
The only person in the video engaging was the woman.
I went to a select board meeting a while back to protest a proposed development.
Should I have expected to get jumped from behind by a violent nutcase and stayed home?
How many seconds does it take to choke someone out ? Only a few correct ? That’s life threatening in some people.

You missed the point. If I knew I was going to need a gun I wouldn't need a gun because I wouldn't be going there. I'm not a cop, so I don't have to go into dangerous places.

I don't think you could say that. I was about to go somewhere 3 minutes from my house in a low crime rural area. I went back into my house grab my gun and then went on my way. I was thinking I don't need a gun but I couldn't go without taking it.

Why in the world would you leave the scene where you were perfectly justified in killing the attacker? The state has to investigate the killing. Fleeing the scene is about the stupidest thing you could do in that situation.
WHat if I believed I was unlikely to receive a fair trial?

I agree with not going to known potentially dangerous places, but in today's society, Dangerous places are everywhere, just some more dangerous than others. People are killed in broad daylight in the middle of well occupied city streets.

If it gains me even half a chance to survive an attack ANYWHERE, by carrying a gun, I'm carrying it.

You're right. I bet most people who use a gun even cops are caught by surprise. I go to the town dump 50 times a year for twenty years, nothing ever happened there so do I let my guard down there? Going tomorrow morning to get of weekend trash, nothing should happen but....

I'm 60.
No formal training but for 11B sawdust pits at Ft. Benning 40 years ago.
And I was, BTW, 8th grade heavy weight wrestling champ, 1978.
I'm pretty sure I could have twisted that kid up and left him regretting his life choices, and not pulled my heater.
But I dont blame the guy for doing what he did. Not everyone has the skills I walk around with....
