USN '65-'69. They trained me to be a Firecontrolman so we took care of the stuff that aimed the guns...weapons system radar etc. Great job. Great training.

Just got my LTC this month, too.[smile]

Another FNG. First post, joined because I've recently gotten back into reloading and shooting. Spent a combined 24 years of active duty as a helicopter pilot and following service in Vietnam came to Massachusetts as a flight instructor for the Guard. Retired in 1988. Since then been putzing around doing this and that. Currently I'm pretty concerned about the situation going on within this country and around the world and figured that if I load ammo til my fingers are numb I'll feel a little safer. As my long deceased grandpappy used to say, to be forearmed is to be forewarned or something like that.

Monadnock Area

Thanks both of you. Used to spend some quality time in the Keene and Spofford areas Derek. The wife's parents have a place on Spofford.

Thank you for your service.

No thanks necessary, but I really appreciate the statement.

I grew up in a Military family. My Dad and Mom both served during WWII!

He raised all five of us kids to believe that we owe it to our country to serve, even if only for one term of enlistment.

Myself, three brothers, and a sister all served in or during Vietnam

We all served proudly and honorably....because it was our duty!

When I get my membership to "green" I will post a family picture, and some other pics as well!

I understand where you are coming from. Hubby and I are both ex mil, and our families have served. Our son currently serves with the Guard.
We served right after Viet Nam ended, and remember how alot of you guys were treated. So we go out of our way to say Thanks to all.[wink]

Was WIA in 2007 and will be medically retired in about 6 months Will be back to the Northeast where I grew up (Ma) after retiring.

Glad to have you 82nd. If you can avoid it move to NH instead of MA when you come back. MA is a rapidly sinking socialist ship.

I wish I could but I have a house, family and job Ma. I have lived all over the world and I still really like Ma. I just wish all the Liberals would leave[rofl]
It will be a tough change from NC where open carry is legal. My LTC consisted of an easy application with the background check and prints, a mental health records check and about 3 weeks later I had my LTC.
