Show me your AK

Bumping this because I just received the very last M92 kit blackthorn had. After having them for years.
I got a PM saying that my pics did not post, so I'm trying again.

Are they showing up now?

I know I'm late getting in here, but here's my Mitchell Arms M-90 (Zastava) Yugo underfolder. Just installed my Texas Weapon Systems dogleg rail cover and peep sight. Now I just need some optics. :)

I hope you intend on keeping the original top cover and rear sight leaf "with" that rifle. Otherwise you just cut it's value in half.

No, you do not need that. That is the detent for the factory MD. You will need to pin the fake can on, so detent is not necessary.
You will still need 4 more US parts (can & receiver each count as 1 ea.) FCG is a natural choice so that brings you down to 1 more. I didn't want to change any of the original furniture, so I went with a US made gas piston. I don't know what your plans are for the receiver, but be aware that the M-92 receiver is unique unto itself. The Polish PMKMS is close but the stock will be at an angle and will not close flush in the front (if you live somewhere where you are allowed to have it fold) the PG reinforcement plate is also different.

You will need to pin the fake can on, so detent is not necessary.

I assume this is just drilling a hole through the can into the threaded part of the front sight base. Did you just drop a pin in and throw a tack weld over it? Is there anything to worry about since the can is alum and the base is steal (I think?).

You are correct, barrel is steel and the can is aluminum which leaves you with only one choice as far as permanently attaching. Silver solder and welding will not work. You need to pin it then have the hole TIG welded to close it.
Some discussion on that in this thread. Krink build - Gunco.net

call me queer for tacticooling an ak, but i tried the timbersmith wood furniture to go for the classic look, hated it, didnt shoot it, so i changed it up, i have fallen in love with ak's all over again after shooting this thing. left my WASR in classic config and like that much more than the el cheapo timbersmith wood.

now the question is, to duracoat or not to duracoat?

Yep it sure is. I love that rifle fun range toy but wouldn't want to lug it around too much! The brake makes no noticeable difference to me as the rifle is so heavy that it barely moves anyways. The aes10b is surprisingly accurate at much further distances than people would think.have the vids of all these rifles hitting plates EVERY SHOT at farther than people think aks can hit

I put a slant brake on mine and noticed a big difference in rapid fire compared to when it didn't have any type of brake at all, just a muzzle nut.
