The Conference Committee has sent official language out - h.4885

Going to be interesting to hear how the judge found an AR15 ban to be unconstitutional, but a ban on standard capacity magazines to be constitutional.

šŸÆ

Iā€™m with you. Iā€™ve heard of cases like this and the idea that the magazine isnā€™t the ā€œarmā€ thatā€™s constitutionally protected. Itā€™s an accessory and not protected. Which is complete and utter BS.

Hey guys since I'm pretty much screwed on what I will be able to buy once I receive my ltc which I'm not exactly sure when that will be. I am trying to figure out would I be able to buy a AR through a private FTF after 8/1 if it's a AR that was legally owned in Massachusetts on 8/1 or am I shit out of luck? Plus even if I am able to I'm sure it will be hard to find a private individual that will be willing to sell it.

Of course.

In fact, that'll be the only way you can buy it. For awhile, at least.

Except the law wonā€™t go into effect util 90 days from now (end of October), itā€™s still old rules until then.

Except now thereā€™s legally perilous backdating for AWB rules - if you buy a new (post 8/1 re-stock) 18ā€ ban compliant Tavor after 8/1 (which passes even the most stringent reading of the MA/Healey edict), in October when the law goes into effect it will fail the new rules and it wonā€™t be grandfathered and will be illegal.

An object legal one day, illegal the next. Makes absolutely no sense. Kind of like one foot in NH and one foot in MA holding a shiny new Benelli shotgun while hunting, you broke the lawr.

Buy a lv action, and any semiauto pistols you can, they are next

I'm sure there will be people selling, the question is can you afford it? A $500 AR in most of the country is going to jump to 2K in MA

Does this whole jersey thing affect us directly or is it just letting us know we are likely to receive a favorable decision?
No, nothing binding
It's informative but most Mass courts only look for evidence to support their predetermined outcomes.

Or they simply answer a different question than what was asked so they can rule against you.

If we can keep the current makeup of the Supreme Court then in three years all of this AW and Mag ban stuff will go away.
But mean tweets means Trump can't be allowed back in officd

The biggest problem with getting the half million gun owners in Massachusetts on board, is that the Commonwealth won't divulge who has a permit and who doesn't. So there's no way you can get a mailing list together unless they belong to an organization such as goal, which only has 17,000 members
Iā€™m going to start gifting out memberships to family to get the numbers up. Do they have to be a mAss resident?

Got a cold call from someone claiming to be from the ā€œevil Gun Lobeeā€ (NRA) btw. I had them take me off the contact list years back so I reckon a scammer?

The dems don't need to cheat, Republicans are like native americans across the country, they're getting smaller and their voices are basically just faint echos.

Grandstand all you want, fact is the younger generations are learning to hate Republicans and their ideals and the 20 somethings are migrating away from the party for similar reasons. We got baby boomers and older, and in places where Republicans do have young blood the population is so small it doesn't matter.

The future is looking bleak for the Republican party, and no, Trump isn't going to save it- he's not changing hearts and minds and progressively transforming the party, he's polarizing it and hoping the haters just die or leave- that isn't going to happen, if it were we wouldn't have to keep seeing Whoopi on the view.
Young girls are going further to the left and young guys are going further to the right. Look at poll numbers, (even though heavily skewed to be rigged for dems) the 18-25 year old males are loving Trump.

Now does it matter since elections are rigged and Biden/Harris has imported millions of dem
Voters? Probably notā€¦

I read thru some of it, from what I read he justified by saying LCM's were used in mass shootings, but so were AR's so go figure.
MOST mass shootings are not ARs, they are handguns, But MOST do use standard cap mags, pistol mags.
He's also saying mags capacity isn't protected as long a some kind of mag is available.

I think it's stupid.

If the configuration meets the new definition of an AW considering the new evil feature list then being in the store on 8/1 matters. If not then the 10/23 is the next date that might matter depending on the roster situation.

Does the stock on an M1A count as both a ā€œforward gripā€ and a ā€œbarrel shroudā€, or just one of them? The wood and metal on an M1A meets the description of both.

If so, thereā€™s no way an M1A isnā€™t an ā€œassault-style firearmā€

Especially since there are a hell of a lot more standard capacity mags out there than AR pattern rifles. They pass the ā€œin common useā€ test easily.

I'm confused, which one of these is the "shoulder thing that goes up"?

FWIW Cabelaā€™s told me the same basically verbatim for an M1A that I ordered. They allegedly got direction from corporate that they can still sell (for now). Guess we will see, hoping it comes in sooner rather than later.
The M1A was called out in the 2016 FAQ as not an AW which is similar to a Mini-14 or Mini-30 which both are listed on the Appensix A as not an AW. For 30years of AWB bullshit the M1A was OK but now itā€™s not because of semi-auto and a presumably a handguard. But since basically everything is now deemed and banned as an Assault Style weapon itā€™s gone.

Not an AW from the 2016 FAQ:
Any Springfield Armory M1A or substantially similar model weapon

It never would have flown on its own . It took shenanigans in the house attaching it to the budget bill to get it through. It was then separated back into a stand alone bill after.
Interesting to note that the bill # changed THREE times -- 4139, 4420 and finally 4885. "If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance baffle 'em with BS"

Another article that only talks ghost guns and ERPO.

NRA's threat to sue is a "real badge of honor", House Speaker Ron Mariano.

"Bring it on," Rep. Michael Day.

Would "withstand any challenge that comes its way", Maurdeeb Healey.
Letā€™s see how Oh Day, Mauriano, and Maurons ā€œfixā€ holds now. We need some liberal Commie tears.
Yes, it will be interesting to see how long this false bravado holds up with our lefty loony pols after the NJ decision. šŸ¤”

I wonder if the FA-10 site will stay up today, thinking MA shenanigans or maybe too much traffic
Not sure if FFL's have much left at this point, stopped up at the Gun Rack yesterday, pretty well wiped out unless you wanted a lever gun. Did leave with a CZ TS 2 Orange though.
