The Conference Committee has sent official language out - h.4885

That is messed up!

I believe there was one version of the bill with something like that in it, but it is not in the final version.

He could easily just have been mistaken and hasn’t read the final bill. It’s all very confusing considering how many iterations there have been, how long they have been, and how convoluted.

As bad as it is, it could have been worse. There were some much worse things that didn’t make it into the bill. I thought for sure that they were going to neuter the C&R.

Yep
We look forward to the FA 10 website crashing Wednesday evening when all those Lower’s get transacted into it. I feel for those who make a living in the industry but life is hard and we all have burdens.
Some are in the club, so their burden is less, as George Carlin said, it’s a big club, and we AIN’T in it.
I’m late to the party and way behind in this thread but why would anyone want to efa10 a lower?

We’re still under the old laws until 10/23 and the old laws say to efa10 it after it can fire a shot.

If it’s 100% you needed a 4473 and that’s your record that it was lawfully owned on 8/1.

I don’t get why anyone’s “registering” anything.

Training program was pre-8/1 and application was submitted pre-8/1. Now if they took the class post 8/1 and applied then, then I could see that it wouldn't be accepted as the class would have been after the ruling took effect.
However that is not what the new law states. It states if you have an LTC FID prior to 8/1/2024 there is nothing about getting your application in with the old training certificate before 8/1/2024. In fact it spificaly states if you have your licence before 8/1/2024 you are not subject to the new training. I hope everything works out for you. Please let us know what happens.

Some people are pantshitting about having proof that something (anything!) was legally possessed on 01AUG. They're thinking of using the EFA10 to establish that proof.

Yep. If that was his reasoning, he's still using the old "interest balancing" test. That's a no-no now.

FPC has already appealed the New Jersey decision, they are not settling for half a win.

Interestingly enough at the end of this video about the New Jersey decision Jared says, “Massachusetts there is help coming to you too.”

I take that as a good sign because I know Jared speaks to FPC board members often.

There is definitely hope, it will just take time and money (for law firms/lawsuits). Hopefully people didn't spend all their money on toys.

But they will enforce it - so yes, they support putting you in a cage for owning the same object they are allowed to have without consequence

The very definition of tyranny
Looks like we’ll have to carry dual glocks like this but with 10 rounders to make up for no carry standard capacity mags. NY style gangsta.

The lawmakers in Boston have to be clicking wine glasses and laughing at gun owners like this.
what he said

also some lowers don't have a 4473 to prove date, like a chunk of aluminum for instance

There are so many things wrong with that bill that it is insane

"the serialization of firearms, frames and receivers made from non-metallic materials shall be accomplished by using a metal plate permanently embedded in the material of the frame or receiver"

How does one go about securely embedding a metal plate in a plastic frame without destroying it? I'm sure gang members with their 3D printed frames are complying as we speak.

I brought my son to the police station today. He’s 23 and we wanted to make sure he wouldn’t be subject to the new training. Our licensing officer said my renewal from last week should be in by September and his license should arrive by Halloween. We’re going to move out of state within the next six months or so but I wanted him to be on more solid legal ground if something happens to me or my wife.

The licensing officer is of the opinion that new applicants who got it in today will be GTG. I’ll keep you posted.

I suspect this will vary between towns - sort of like the "may issue" nonsense. Some towns will say "no license for you" and some will probably be like the officer you note above. This could change if some kind of enforcement letter is sent to all towns from the state (although this feels like a sure way to get some immediate injunctive relief, of course in my very much non-professional legal opinion).

edit: fixing typos because I am a neanderthal

Does this mean there's a grace period between 8/1 and 10/23 where we could still pick stuff up or is the 8/1 date set in stone?
For rifles that will become ASW when the law passes it’s set in stone. (You can buy after 8/1 but can’t keep it after 10/23).

Pistol frames, serialization, etc. is under old rules until 10/23

"Most strikingly, young U.S. men were the only population group in the United States or seven EU member states actually to have become more conservative since 2014 - or, in the poll's terms, to favour more control rather than freedom."
-Citation Yours.

I'm sorry, are you saying the shift in conservativeism in young men 18-24 in the US is going to drown out the shift towards liberalism for every other category and bracket? Because I don't read it that way at all.

Certainly your article notes women in all groups are becoming more liberal and not conservative, so not sure what you're babbling on about there...
You should also factor in birth rates. Single cat lady Karens dont have kids. Conservative men who manage to find a conservative woman have the highest birthrates. Liberals dont even hit replacement. They will die out - hence attemting to import new voters - who come from historically conservative christian (or even islamic) cultures. Its a losing battle for their value system.

how would it be possible to register a lower today before midnight with no serial number ? that was a home build for instance. asking for a friend
Serial numbers aren’t a requirement until a the new system is set up.

Registration isn’t required until a year after the new system is built.

So… don’t worry about it?
