The Conference Committee has sent official language out - h.4885

At the 17.26 mark of the video Toby says the the petition is not null and void as it will still make it's way to the ballot in 2026 even though it's not suspended up until then. That's my interpretation, no reason to stop gathering signatures.

Some might say that the possibility of a suspension of implementation was the only reason to gather signatures for a ballot initiative that is guaranteed to fail and provide a propaganda victory to the State.

Those same people might say, let's get on with the lawsuits.

Others might say a "propaganda victory for the state" on a firearms-legislation issue is meaningless, since most of the population is already firmly committed to the same cause that propaganda would ordinarily nudge people toward.

We can advocate lawsuits and also advocate the petition simultaneously. The two aren't all that closely related. The lawsuits are already in the federal courts, and they're about securing our national rights in the long term; the petition is about helping local firearms retailers stay in business in the short term.

The ones specific to MA are fixing to drop.
Although true, the Maryland case will likely bear fruit long before anything here is in a position to do so.

the petition is about helping local firearms retailers stay in business in the short term.

If the emergency preamble nullifies a suspension of implementation that might sadly not be achievable.

I am personally not opposed to the petition, but I can see the practicalities of everyone's arguments.

Really? Only Ma**h*** is open on Tuesdays unless the other shops open up. They would be wise to.

Apparently Dean Safety, The Mill Store and the rest of that unit was open because of tomorrow. Same with a lot of other vendors too.

Tomorrow is going to be an ish show. Take something to pee in, lots of snacks, booze and cash (or a CC).

wow what a deal, 325 months. With the 1k down that's $192,750 Hmmm that seems a bit high [rofl]
Reminds me of this one urban dweller who got a $100 payday loan.

After many years it ballooned to $50,000.00.

Maybe if these boys stayed in school they would understand compounding interest.

It's not even that, the salesman told him outright how long and what the payment was. What could he have said that made the buyer think this was a good deal? Nothing honest, that's for sure.
Maybe he promised to buy it back at the price paid in 5 years (not mentioning that this wouldn't cover the debt at that point, or at that mileage it will need $$$ repairs before then, so the whole deal will fall apart before that time comes).
The buyer is screwed, and his own greed and desire to drive a status symbol, is the biggest part.

Well....Maybe he's got 6 mo. to live.

but what defines “not otherwise prohibited”?
I think the intent is to allow bolt guns and non-auto shotgun sales to continue to pacify the fudds and undercut any immediate lawsuits. I think their intent with “otherwise prohibited” is the assault style firearms rules. IANAL so your guess is as good as mine how legal this is but I think the intent is pretty obvious.

It also says “pending further guidance from the control board”. And that’s just stupid. But it is what it is.

and you would think shall not be infringed is pretty obvious but here we are.

The buyer plans on making a small down payment, never making any other payments, driving the car until it gets repossessed, then starting over.
