So if FFLs refused to transfer is the way.
In NH hi cap mags are mandatory, they issue you one with your drivers licenseBut, what if I think about them while I am in NH. Is that legal?
Sadly, you are correct. You’re right. But it won’t happen. FFLs could have been doing this for a long time now to stand against the police unions that support these double standards, but they haven’t. Now take away half their business and ask them to refuse money to do a simple transfer? Not gonna happen.
Take away half of someone’s business

Forget the current law. The new bill saysAre you sure ? Adjustable stocks are pinned muzzle brakes are pinned and welded. They are not manufactured that way.
(f) a copy or duplicate of any firearm meeting the standards of or enumerated in clauses (d) and (e); provided, that for the purposes of this subsection, “copy or duplicate” shall mean a firearm: (A) that was manufactured or subsequently configured with an ability to accept a detachable magazine
This is a correct statement with regards to being a detachable or fixed mag. All other features can be neutered. But the new language says something to the effect of detachable mag or had a detachable mag. I can look up the exact language if people can’t find it. But you can’t make a detachable mag gun fixed after it’s manufactured as detachable. It needs to be manufactured that way, not converted.
But again we’re talking ex post facto. That is not a law yet. They cannot impose that definition on something you have prior to its signing.Forget the current law. The new bill says
Thanks. I was too lazy to go grab the text.Forget the current law. The new bill says
There is no discussion of existing, just new. If lawfully possessed on 8/1 you are fine. We are discussing post 8/1.But again we’re talking ex post facto. That is not a law yet. They cannot impose that definition on something you have prior to its signing.
I recommend not using the term ex post facto. Nothing I have seen is ex post facto. People throw it around like “shall not be infringed”.Is this an example of ex post facto? That new definition starts when the bill is signed. And can’t be applied to firearms that already exist?
But some actons are, like carrying a >10 round pre ban mag in your defensive weapon.I recommend not using the term ex post facto. Nothing I have seen is ex post facto. People throw it around like “shall not be infringed”.
We are discussing what the new law allows or not. ALL ASWs lawfully possessed on 8/1/24 are still lawful. So nothing is going backwards and changing what is legal today.
Same thing happens here...central MA is red. However cities are so Boston, Worcester, and Springfield are so close, you get a full smattering of liberal morons from the city that overcome our country red vote. What most people fail to realize is, that a good majority of Illinois is not leftist, commie democrats. What throws the voting numbers off is Chicago. Most of the rest of the state is rural right leaning republicans.
Amazingly enough very few if any of his threads involve gunz.I much prefer the @peterk123 model. Show all the great things about the new state and just make us all jealous of the freedom and opportunities elsewhere.
I think the “committee” language is the real sketchy part. It seems to me like they put into law to do what the ATF just got slapped in the wrist for over pistol braces.@Tallahassee i think there’s grandfathering….thats all that matters right?….we’re good….
Punch yourself in the junk and say three Hail Mary's. You'll be absolved til 8/1.Speaking of pant-shitting, I managed to talk myself out of a 5.56 Spear at my LGS because I get delayed every purchase and if this pile of shit gets signed while I’m delayed I’d potentially own a gun I couldn’t possess.
I don’t even recognize myself anymore.
I dare you to make that same post after some eager cop cuffs and stuffs you. You will (maybe) wake up to the actual police state that you live in real quick.Same thing happens here...central MA is red. However cities are so Boston, Worcester, and Springfield are so close, you get a full smattering of liberal morons from the city that overcome our country red vote.
I still say no one is coming out to Barre, MA to take guns from people and if they do......umm...good luck.
Don't think we are all retards here. We have our share of freedom in the country and what's kept me here for this long and for people staying, I recommend it highly.
The older you get gunz matter less, and freedom and time being free are all that matters.Amazingly enough very few if any of his threads involve gunz.
He is literally living the dream I had since I first went to MT 30 years ago for a backpacking trip, and none of that dream involved having 100 trillion guns all holed up alone waiting for civil war 2 typing angrily worded posts on message boards deriding others on their choice of state in which they choose to live.
I hope you are right. That would be a small but nice consolation prize in an otherwise anti-Constitutional shit sandwich.I'd rather hear it from someone smarter than me, but I think if something is already failing the "two feature" test but remains legal to own because it was legally possessed on 8/1, then it's possible you can undo compliance work once the law is in effect.
I dearly wish you and Crackpot would get back on the same page. I respect you both. We need you both. You both make excellent points and you are both helpful, but can't seem to get over the weird situation with the state's "transfers" database. Crackpot is right that it is not a true gun registration system. Pastera is right that the state has used it as such (despite the name and problems & exceptions) for over 50 years now. Can we ever get past this point?CrackPot will call me crazy but this is the plain reading of the bills language.
Wishful thinking. Maura's extreme leftist brain does not function that way at all.She may be pissed - she should be since this steaming pile goes so far that even the 1st Circus might be force to place an injunction against the roster parts making it easy to buy pretty much anything that's not "assault-style".
Yes... PLEASE! From your keyboard to God's in-box. GOAL is not helping us at all with some of these confusing, nonsensical interpretations... sort of pretending that silly bugs and likely mistakes in the new law were/are 100% intentional. We can see that there are problems with some provisions that don't make any sense even to a rabid anti-2A lefty. Please start all over again from scratch GOAL and give us an analysis that helps us, not hurts us with oddball interpretations.I really wish GOAL would stop doing this, to the extent there is ambiguity in the language. At least get someone capable to include qualifiers in the statements. If they’re not careful they’ll end up doing more harm than good.
Guns are a good litmus test for freedom, but they also aren't everything.Amazingly enough very few if any of his threads involve gunz.

Dude...you are much over the top......unless you live in country bumpkin MA, you know not what of what you speak. Relax.I dare you to make that same post after some eager cop cuffs and stuffs you. You will (maybe) wake up to the actual police state that you live in real quick.
Cool, so like half of NES? I know plenty who bought that day.The new bill actually says prior to 7/20/16.
That would mean the rush to buy ARs on 7/20… that’s all documented felonies in 90 days if you still own it.
OK mr fancy pants
Dude...you are much over the top......unless you live in country bumpkin MA, you know not what of what you speak. Relax.
My neighbor was a state cop and my best friend a central MA town chief, and both knew what I owned and didn't give a rats ass.
Every place in MA is not Cambridge or Boston. Acreage or a large club in North Central with a lot of like thinking people......goes a long way dude.
Sure there is a threat of a boot on your neck.....but the majority of us country bumpkins don't go near 495 and in where the idiots are.
I do say we are getting infiltrated now though and this bill will suck donkey balls.
And for the record, Im moving to not only a free state in a week, but an income tax free state, and all my non ma shit...is already there.
OK mr fancy pants
Just pointing out that MA wants its cut of most everything...
We are soooooo far from free here its disgusting.
my guess is there trying to either make it more palatable or cram more bs into it
